lol your going to laugh my friend had about 15 min before he had to leave his shop and close up so i used a broken welder and used a legacy strait pipe a 240sx bend and some other random mandrel bends looks like shit leaks like hell and sound great but after the motor goes in im going to make a new one from scratch 2.5 or 3 in all the way back no cat.

DUDE! That's a hell of an engine, so how hard is it to swap in the crv AWD trans? Isnt it just a rewelded mount and a little bashing with a hammer?
  • Nice build. Got any more pics of the seat mounts?

Awesome build man! I was curious about this swap too, maybe even open the door for my dream wagon.. k24 with 04ish CRV transmission and full drivetrain :D

well i havent done it yet but i looks like it just needs the mount welded witch should be easy i used to make the hydro tranny mount for the ef's before hassport did i also have the cable to hydro convertion but if i have the time ill just weld in the peddle like i did on my crx
ce build. Got any more pics of the seat mounts?

i had to cut the old seat brackets up to make them buy cutting the plan level with the other side then welding the strips in after drilling holes in for the seat it took about a day.

here i cut the plan level for this flat strip
    761.jpg
then weled the hell out of it
    762.jpg
the other side is easy you just have to drill out the tac welds

    as shown here

i have more pictures somewere i look later

Yeah like I said, My "dream" wagon... which means I'll never be able to do it...but dude it would be wicked!

Depending on the power I achieve with my build, I may very well go that route myself (K24 with CRV/Element 4wd tranny).
  • crv-tecwagoncrv-tecwagon New Wagonist
well you better post lots of crap on that than cause if it works so well ill have to sell my subaru and buy another wagon

Dear God I hope someone does this! I want shots of everything as well. I would give up my other projects to run around in that beast.

The guy I just sold my wagon to, is in the process of doing this very exact swap full K24 w/4wd tranny. He was in the process of pulling the D series out today, when I stopped by. He already has a nice EG Hatch with a K24 bottom end, K20 head, Si tranny w/limited slip. He's also doing a rear disk swap w/sway bar.

I do believe he signed up on here, I'll find out what his screen name is....

    That's awesome.

I'm doing the rear sway bar from the DA. Got the LCA's on the wagon, just gotta fab up some mounts. See if he can't make a write up. Plllleaseee

I need to make some rails for my seats. Hopefully it stops raining soon and I'll be motivated to go work in the garage. LOL
  • crv-tecwagoncrv-tecwagon New Wagonist
it takes a lot of patience and eye balling I'm sure you can use a measuring tape, but that wouldn't be fun lol
  • crv-tecwagoncrv-tecwagon New Wagonist
so here is an update iv got the rear t bracket modifide and the tranny mount done and the shifter cut and welded o and the hydro peddle assy

here is the peddle assy i was going to use the hassport but i wanted to eliminate the cable
    376.jpg
    377.jpg
    378.jpg

    act prolite flywheel and clutch
    379.jpg
    380.jpg
    381.jpg

i used a 91 si rear sway bar that actually bolts up to the rear tow mount holes only one on each side tho no probs yet
    382.jpg
    383.jpg
    384.jpg

i measured the side to side cable where it sits best then cut fliped and rewelded it
    DSCI0068-2.jpg
    385.jpg
    386.jpg

then i used the crv shift linkage so i had to measure the wire a cut off the plastic end and weld on a washer
    it was actually really easy
    387.jpg
    388.jpg

then i mated the tranny and had to check the T bracket and i used the cable one, i had to weld on a hole that mounts to the motor cause its an inch lower after that it fit right in so i could make a tranny mount and chassis mount
i cant find th tranny mount pics if you ask ill throw them up later
    389.jpg

    391.jpg
    392.jpg
    393.jpg
    394.jpg
    395.jpg

and i dont like the turbo manifold and the turbo position so i ordered a ramhorn with a little more twist in the turbo
and i cant find much room for the down pipe so im thinking of free flow out the left side of the front bumper
so let me know what you think guys any tips or Q's im always open for suggestions and criticism.

no bashing but i did modify the t bracket maybe cause i use the cable one but i used the top half of a cable mount for the bushing and welded a plate for the bottom the mounted it on the tranny jacked it up till it was level then welded the chassis mount used from the old ones fits like a dream now there is clearance for the tranny but the rear transfer case leaves barely enough room for exhaust so wait till you mock it up before making one.
  • awesome man what seats are those?
  • crv-tecwagoncrv-tecwagon New Wagonist

  • well im yankin the motor since my friend is selling me his fully built gsr turbo untuned this motor ran high 9's in a crx but im scared for my tranny and drive-line.
  • where did you get that bar to mount your seat belts?
  • ebay i got it but its not for auto seat belts so i just welded aplate on the piller then a nut on that after that i just had to bend the ears a bit theres spots at the bottom the fit already

What connector is that? The connector between the LCA and the sway bar? I've found that you can mod a piece from an 87 Accord but this looks hella better, did it come with the LCA or where is it from?
  • i believe it obx-r from ebay.
