Crank pulley

This might sound like a noob question, but I recently swapped in a d16z6 into my rt and when I did I reused the stock crank pulley, so that I could use the stock alt and ps pump. My question is, Is there a difference between the d16a6 crank pulley/harmonic balancer and the z6 unit? My guess (looking at the stock z6 pulley) is that the a6 pulley has a balancer and the z6 is just a pulley? Am I right? Thanks

i believe you are correct, i know the a6 crank is a harmonic balancer, but i don't think that the stock z6 pulley is. I've had a lightweight alum single belt crank pulley on my A6 for about 50k miles, haven't had any problems though.

im not sure about the a6 crank pulley but from what ive understood is that honda crank pulleys are dampeners not balancers they have rubber molded into them to reduce vibrations
