SAD Day for me - Mom's NICE Wagon Sold for Just $1,500.00!

Just posting up sort of venting I suppose.

My Mom and her husband enlisted my help to find them a wagon a year or two back. It was to be used as transport for my Mom to haul my son around (she watches him daily) since her Del Sol isn't child friendly.

They paid $1,850 for a metallic blue 1991 Wagon DX in decent shape. I gave it a spiffy wash, wax, detail etc. Then the following items were replaced in the name of comfort and reliability:

New OE/Exedy clutch, resurfaced flywheel, new rear main seal
Brand new Sanden a/c compressor/clutch/coil, dryer, and expansion valve
OE Genuine Honda t-belt, water pump, drive belts, cam seal, crank seal, coolant
Tune-up inc. plugs, wires, cap, rotor, filter, v.c gasket, valve adjustment
New OE Denso alternator
New battery
Brand new KYB GR-2 shocks and Tein S-Tech lowering springs (for EG - cut one rear coil)

Car ran and drove amazingly well. A/c blew cold, car rode so sweet. Shortly after completing all the work my stepdad's father died, and his mother stopped driving,so my Mom and him sort of inherited like-new Toyota Camry and Ford Ranger. The wagon sat,and sat, and sat until they decided to sell it on a whim to a co worker of my stepdad's. The part that kills me is the $1,500.00 pricetag!!! They have spent well over $3,000.00 on everything including the car itself. I would have ripped that suspension off as a back-up had I known the car was being sold. It was my suspension that I had saved from an old car of mine and had warrantied the shocks.

I'd have rather seen it go to a good wagoneer's home than some random turd that probably won't appreciate the work.

I never even took any good shots of the car. Car should be gone today.

We'll see if the co-worker bails or tries to lowball. My stepdad is a super cool/nice guy so it's not like he snuck around selling the wagon - he just didn't tell me it was going so soon.

I cannot very well tell him to axe a sale if a buyer has cash in hand, today, if there is another (even more deserving) buyer that may or may not have cash in hand, today. When you say "another buyer" do you mean you?

If the buyer flakes I'll be sure to post it. I don't want to cause an awkward situation with his co-worker that he sees every day by making him flake on selling the wagon to him. Sucks because I was ready to take my springs/shocks but it was already mentioned as part of the sales pitch so there went that idea!

ha, yeah i guess it could be me.. i would have to sell my hatchback asap though. hmm, let me know man. if this guy does flake, let me know.

p.s. you could keep your suspension too (assuming there is a stock suspension to go with it??)
