would it be hard to custom install a sunroof?

  • The aftermarket ones are easy to put in if you are comforable cutting a hole in your roof.

And our roofs are wobbly enough as it is...you'd probably need to add some extra bracing up there. Doesn't one of the NJ dudes have a sunroof or two installed?

If you check out how the aftermarket sunroofs are installed you will find they have an aluminum frame that will reinforce the roof. I had one in my 84 Civic and liked it better than the factory one. The OEM Civic ones just slide into the roof. The aftermarket ones pop up and will vent much better with alot less wind noise. 8)

I had a bunch of aftermarket sunroofs back in the '80s when they were popular. It's a fairly cheap and easy mod.

I'd like to graft in the section from an Si...

    Oh ic! Very cool!
  • The EDM ones came with factory sunroofs. My wagon has one as well.

It was a factory option in the United States as well. Though not many have them.

    Perhaps use the Crx one??

I was just thinking about a CRX one... However the CRX sunroof kind of sucked. They almost always rusted through and leaked, and they were only a sunroof when you opened it. Which meant for 8 months out of the year (in Canada) you couldn't even use them to get light into the car. I would rather swap in a newer sunroof, with a glass top and a interior sunshade. At least then it would make it worth my while...

    Agreed.
Most of the CRX owners in my area have replaced their sunroofs with various blanks of some sort (be it CF, fibreglass or some type of tinted perspex)
  • go to wabasto.com and order the one you want. you can fit most sunroofs on the wagon.

    good luck.

Thanks for the info on the Hollandia sunroof's! They even have the CRX style one if you wanted it to look stock!

I think if I was going to drop the money on the install I would just go for the one that slides into the roof so that you can still use it if you had a bike rack on the car...

And here goes the ridiculous question of the day "How much do you guys think it would cost to get a roof cut from a beagle and get it shipped?"
