Choose: RT4WD or FWD

Heres the low down;

Theres a couple Wagons in my area, which I have narrowed the potential buying list to one of two.
One being FT4WD and the other, FWD.

I will be DDing the Wagon, but it will also being a rolling project.

I have my Jeep TJ for the winters but still cannot decide to go with the RT or the FWD model.
Both are Manual Trans, and mileage are around the same.

So what do you think?

Given my position, What would you choose? Reasons?

-Not trying so sound like a dick, I do recognize some members have a hard time finding Wagons at all.-

  • I'd say it really depends on what your plans are. If you're gonna go B series, then go DX, if you can stay D then RT. I've got a soft spot for the Rt since it's a bit more rare and has the versatility of being a capable beast in the snow. If they are about the same price, and in the same shape you can always remove all the RT4WD stuff for a B swap.

    If I got a wagon again it would be the fwd. Easier to find parts for
  • If you have a Jeep for the winter, and don't necessarily see yourself needing the 4WD, I'd go with the FWD. I'd also check out the body's really good on each, and go with whichever is in better shape.

    i wouldnt mind an rt4wd. but i got a jeep for the winter too and i wanted to do a b swap becuase i allready had a complete swap so thats why i went with fwd

    i would have to say the rt4wd due to the fact that it can go anywhere a fwd can't. helps a lot if you get stuck in the snow

    You don't need a Jeep if you have an RT.

    fwd only because you have the jeep
  • i would say rt4wd. that way your set for whatever may come. I know you say you have your jeep now, but if anything ever happens and you suddenly need to drive your wagon in the winter, your already set (fwd isnt bad in the winter at all, but 4wd is better). plus, if you ever decide to sell your wagon, having it 4wd is a major selling point to some people.
