I've only done one pair, for Revmaynard. We used some exhaust pipe couplers from Advance, I don't recall what size, but IIRC it was a 'between' size- meaning not the standard tube size, but the coupling to join two pieces (1 3/4 maybe?)

I just picked up a 3 inch piece of 1-7/8" ID and it seems just about perfect, not sure if it is too big for the bushings yet, but I have a piece of aluminum tubing with a 1-7/8" OD so I could probably use some rings cut off of that as an adapter for the bushings.

I'm glad I got the ball rolling and some people really like the result, I can't wait to get mine done and try them out on my new HB!

 You'll need 2" ID pipe 'cuz the shx cover is 1 7/8" dia.(GR-2 shx) unless you're planning to use somekind of boot.

Yeah I'm using boots, I think they are off an old dirt bike I found them in my Dad's garage a while back.

Do the bushings still sit tight and flush in a 2" ID pipe? This 1-7/8" inch looks even a bit big to me.

I am starting to manufacture these this next week. I finished a set for an EG couple a couple days ago and it turned out great. You can still use your stock bushings and I can custom make anything around 1"-2" extension. $50 a set + core + shipping.

    PM me for more information.

The prob with that hat is that it's designed for coilovers. You need something to keep the spring centered in the hat.Honda does it by a cap method.Coilovers do it by a centering piece.
