Stereo Install problem

So i was trying to install a new Pioneer stereo and when i connected the wires (Red to Red, Black to Black, Yellow to Yellow) from the previous Sony that was in there. I noticed that my clock was no longer in display, my interior lights were off, and the back hatch light was dimming. So connected both Reds and Yellows and the stereo turned on as did the clock, interior lights, and back hatch light went away.

Any suggestions?

I forgot to mention, the each time the car turned on, the presets would go back to default and the clock would reset as well. It seems as if the Clock/interior light is connected to the constant power? It makes sense, but would would it only work when connected to the red power wire? Shouldn't it already have power?

So literally as i hit submit i thought to myself, "Hummmm i wonder if the constant has a fuse separate from the radio"? Yes, there is! So this is the dumbest post ever; however, Some useful info was found on identifying wires and thought i'd share.
