cams question

well i might com in contact with 2 heads a b20 and a b18 and im wondering if the cams for a b20 would fit/be a performance gain? reason why i ask is b20s are hard to find round here and the though of a b18 block with a b20 head is weird unless your boostin the hell out of it. input?

they are identical heads unless you mean a vtec head from a b 18 in fact the b20 cams maybe weaker

    what do you mean weaker?

What are you hoping to do here? Get some performance?
If you want a real performance gain, buy a set of cams meant for performance.

Check out Exospeed. They sell some decent LS cams for about $200.

    Uh, so?
"Regrinds" doesn't automatically mean they're bad.

i put crane stage 2 in an ls and the results are tba but i read a thread on a b20 and the guy said he loved the gains from the same cams "they pulled much harder in the high rpms"

there are actually some different head variants that came with the b20 motors namely the b20z JDM motors. I believe the desired head codes are p75
either way its something like the b18b head whereas it has 1mm larger valves & its supposed to breathe better. I read this on honda-tech and on nonvtec.com.

Regrinds are not bad either...don't be discouraged by them.

    Just look around

so using the b20 head would be a performance gain sweet! ill see if i can find a block for a b18 somewhere or b20.
