That is definitely NOT a salvageable car. If its mechanicals are OK, maaaybe it would be a good donor.

what is a price you would pay for it. runs and everything works other then the brakes. has around 200k miles.
  • not worth it, you can spend another 6-700 dollars and get one in somewhat decent shape that thing is just a beat to hell rust bucket.

but its really hard to find a rt wagon. i was planning on buying it just for a donor car. but the guy wont let it go for 200. and if he does i can just find a fwd shell and swap everything over. will it be possible? how much fabrication and have any pictures on the mounts and all the fabrication that is needed?
  • i have a local selling this 6sp rt wagon . and i really want a wagon because i have no room in my mk1 mr2. this guy wont let it go for less then 250. its rusted up and i dont even think it will last me 1 week of driving. imo this car needs a miracle to save the body. need some opinions on if i should buy it or wait for a better rt 6p to come around. http://www.flickr.com/photos/44177164@N02/4205213088/
  • k you say you really need it for the winter, By the time you buy that car, find a donor and swap all the parts and what not, its gonna be more than a couple days and im sure you work so you cant just work on it all day
  • i have a local selling a rt wagon. everything works but the brakes. something is wrong with it im guessing the brakes lines. anyways he wants around 250-300. i need some opinions so please be as brutal as you can. here are some pics http://www.flickr.com/photos/44177164@N02/4205213088/

damn dude, that thing is DEAD, not worth it...

the problem with the brakes is prolly hard core rusted something-or-another, which will NOT be fun at all.. almost impossible to work on actually.. trust me.

    keep looking
  • I agree with wagodizzle, if you're looking for a driveable, buildable car, don't buy this one...

First time you got pulled over by the cops, it'd be taken off the road, whether everything works or not... just for the rust.

and for the price, you could tack another $1000 on it and get something that's pretty much mint.... just have to keep looking :)
  • thanks ... ill just keep looking i guess haha
  • on the off chance you haven't seen this yet...

For parts ONLY! At most 300 if it runs well, I would find a wagon with a bad motor and swap this stuff to it but I'm weird like that!

Its a money pit even if you buy just for parts. The new shell, time and effort plus $$$ to swap. If your going to take it apart to swap over you'll be better off rebuilding the motor, replacing seals etc...$$$ and more $$$ Dood just keep looking. That's my opinion. Good luck.
