Sup gaiz. I've been on hcw for a little while now and just noticed this section so I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm John, 23 from the Northwest and I have a limited knowledge about cars. And as of last night I'm an owner of a 1988 Civic Wagon rt4wd son.

    PDXWagoVan: Thanks man. Yeah according to my friend who is a car guy this was a deal. I'm really excited. My first project car.

    arich: I had no idea those are crx wheel covers haha thanks for info man. Like I said I hardly know anything about cars but working on it haha.

    kylerwho: Yeah definitely man. I really want to get a small meet up for everyone in the portland metro area. I know there are at least 10 guys with wagons around here.

    Edit: Just read through your thread rt-me-1. Hurry up and post pictures man! haha Like I said we should get a local meet set up. Somewhere easy like clackamas mall.

    I think we need a huge North West meet in the spring/summer. Quite a few wagon freaks up here.

    No, I never looked at it but was considering buying it for its tranny. Here in about a month I'm gonna be doin a z6 swap if you are needing a decent A6 let me know. It has 160k on it now.

    When ever the weather warms up a bit I'll take some pics. 16 degrees does not make me want to spend anytime outside.

    I bought mine off Craigs too. It was the red one up in Vancouver for 1800. I talked them down to 1000.

    Charb1618: Yeah I'm defintely down for a huge Northwest meet. I was looking through the Seattle meet up thread and everyone seemed so wishy washy haha. We need to set up a date far in advance so everyone will be able to clear that day and not make any excuses haha.

    rt-me-1: Oh very nice. I know I need a new engine but I'm going to hold out on one for now. But when I do I'll hit you up. And nice haggling skills mister! holy shit I'm envious. I saw that too and wanted to look at it but never got around to it. So you should post pictures up man! these last two days were decent! haha and that's pretty clever.. mEEt haha.

    yeah jay I finally got one. Its in fair condition and I got it for *drumroll* $600 haha. Just has a burnt valve and if you remember Justin, he's going to be helping me on it. Hopefully I'll be driving it within this month. So wth happened to yours? by the way did you just cop springs to lower it? It's pretty wierd talking to on HCW and meinspace haha. Oh yeah if you were facebook you would have seen the picture I posted the morning after i got it haha.

    well water in the radiator=FROZE. almost fixed but tired of dealing with it. Might just drop my new motor in,I have a rebuilt D16z6 bottom end. The Vtec head is already on the motor (vtec not hooked up) and the valve stem seals are going. I might have to set a weekend aside and do my motor swap. ughh its too fuckin cold. I need a warm garage

    Quite aggravating. There was no compression in one cylinder and my friend made the assessment that it was a burnt valve. So we proceed to take apart the head and get to the valve and it looked like his judgment was correct. So fast forward a couple days after buying everything and putting it back together we fire up the car and still no fucking compression. Looks like I'm going to get into a full rebuild and another $300-$400 out of pocket for a jobless, broke, college student... le sigh. At least I'll have pretty much new engine haha. So if any of you vancouver, wa guys know of any part time jobs you should pm me haha.

    no good, my car is still torn apart. I broke the lost motion holder on my head so i have to find a parts head now. shitttty. Oh yea might be getting a different car too. f'ing wagon....

    And the rebuild begins! Was able to to get some extra funds and the motor has been pulled out, taken apart and the block in the machine shop. Hopefully everything goes smoothly and I'll be driving it soon. Pictures tomorrow.

    I lied. Well this is how my wagons been sitting for about a month. Hopefully I'll be getting the engine together within this month.

    It lives! haha. unfortunately I was too lazy and/or more concerned with just getting my shit running so I didn't take any pictures of the rebuild process. oh well fuck it haha. but who cares about an update without a picture? haha so here.
