Dying in Idle

I have a d16a6 with eagle rods and vitara pistons. I put it in my 91 wagon an converted the wagon to multi port injection. When i start the car it starts fairly quickly and will idle around 1000-1500 rpm although it misses quite a bit. I need to check the spark plugs. After about 20 seconds of this it just dies. No sputtering or anything. I have no idea what could be causing this so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

:? Isn't the MPI timing & the dizzy different?Did you install the injector resistors & MPI ECU?
  • i have a p06 ecu and its just timed it by ear, although i dont think bad timing would let it run pretty smoothly for 20-30 sec. then die would? the p06 is an obd1 ecu non vtec ecu that is mpi. im thinking it is my tps sensor that might be bad.

Am I missing something? Why are you running an OBD1 ecu on an OBD0 car?
  • ive got a jumper harness on it and its obd1 cause i have to get it tuned when i put my supercharger on it. yea i didnt get that at first either but the guy that tunes all my friends cars told me i needed obd1 so i did it.
  • so today i tested the tps sensor and it didnt have any dead spots in it but i dont know what resistance it is supposed to have. also i started the car without it plugged in and it ran fine, idled a little high but other than that it ran fine. Im like really confused and dont know what to do. Any suggestions?
  • i dont have a bad tps i believe. is there any ideas for what might be wrong?
  • What distributer are you using on the a6 motor. You have to use an OBD1 distributer with an OBD1 ECU.
  • yes i do have the obd1 dizzy....got it off my friends z6.
