Hello Wagons!

Hey guys,
My name is Dan and I am currently looking for a wagon to use as a DD.
I have had Mitsubishis for the last 10 years and really want to keep the miles off of my evo.
Coming from a sport compact family. I've had turbo AWD eclipses and now an evo 9 and my wife has a turbo supra mk3. I saw my first wagon at a BBQ in San Diego and knew I had to have one. I believe the guy is on here, his name was rubin.

Question. As I have been driving awd cars for a long time, I of course want to find a rt4wd wagon. Are there benefits beyond the 6 speed? I dont know if the awd will really make a big diference in a low hp car. please inform.

Well, hope to have a wagon to show off soon!

Danny

    welcome!
the RT4WD is not a true AWD vehicle, the rear wheels are only engaged when slippage is detected in the front wheels.

hmm i didnt know that lol. still wish mine was 4wd. but i heard the 6 speed isnt very good for these? dnt listen to me tho im new too :)
  • Thanks Wagodizzle! I just thought it was the full time viscous coupler like the awd eclipses used. Oh well. I guys that makes my shopping easier since I've been looking ONLY for the RT.

'6 speed' is a super low (SL) gear mainly used for getting out of stuck or getting rolling with tow.
  • Thanks for that info too. Seems people think these wagons are gold. There's a guy near me asking twice blue book value for a stock wagon.

lol, they are gold dude
  • Ok, so I will ask my question here since I searched and it is not addressed in another thread.

    overheating.

There is a guy near me selling a blue 90 wagon. says that he hasent driven it since it over heated on him. Since this is not a big topic here I can only assume that it is not a big problem for wagons. So whats the possible damage if this guy overheated his car? I don't want to buy a $900 paperweight you know..

    Thanks
  • Could be something as simple as a stuck thermostat, a bad rad fan switch (temperature switch in the back of the block), a nuked radiator, or something more serious like a blown headgasket, or even a warped head. Even if it's the later 2, you can pick up a used motor for not more than $200 and have it rolling again in no time.
  • blue book value for
it's just a guideline to regulate the market....
read some-ones bankaccount somewhere 'high' up...

so 900 without an engine equals paperweight...
then i'll ask 1500 without engine...
    and keeping the wheels...

  • Thanks guys.
The guy won't call me back, so my search is still on.
