Fed up :(

I'm fed up.
The more I work on the Shuttle, the more problems/rust I find.

- After giving it a couple of washes, I've noticed A LOT of scratches all over the car.
- I need a new windscreen moulding, as the top corners dont sit down and water is getting down the sides. Rang up Honda for a quote, they say £100 ($160)!! ffs! I can't afford that!
- I need new roof gutters, not available aparently. They said my Shuttle had roof bars...? No it doesn't - no UK models do! Don't know why that would make a difference...?
- I need all new brakes including drums and brake lines. I have some EF9 calipers I'm reconditioning to put on the front, but they are super rusty, and I can't find a repair kit for them.
- I need new shocks and springs, and a few bushes, so I'm trying to find some second hand coilovers.
- I think I need a new release bearing, even though a whole clutch kit was fitted in January.
- I need the rust sorting - rear arches and sills. I've found a couple of patches on the doors, underneath, on the fuel tank, and the sump is mega rusty too. Also the tailgate has some.
- I also need a new exhaust, thats going to have to be a custom job, which isn't cheap.

And now my EE9 needs a new dizzy! So I have no transport! :x

I want a barn or workshop I can just completely strip the Shuttle, but I can't find one for cheap enough. I'm looking at at least £200 a month ($320), but saying that I would hope to get it done within 1 month.

Sorry to bring a downer, but I have OCPD, and when things don't go right I get really down and pissed off.
I'm stuck in a rut, and want it all sorted! And it's not like I can sell it and buy another one next year, as there's none left in the UK (4WD), which is why I want to sort this one out, and make it mint.

I need a Shuttle to break, and loads of money! (dream on!)

is that an inspection? it varies from state and sometimes city. for example, in Savannah, Georgia there is no inspection whatsoever. however, in Atlanta, Georgia which is about a 4 hour drive away there IS a smog inspection of sorts.. not too strict though. California has a very strict complete vehicle inspection as far as i know, same in Pennsylvania i believe and other nothern states. soooo yeah

    overall easy here lol

    yes an inspection.
its required by law yearly. costs around £55 ($90), and they make sure the car is road worthy, safe, and working correctly. if you have no MOT, you cant get road tax (also required by law - around £200 for the year) and then you cant get insurance. they can fail you on blown fuses, wrong colour bulbs, rust....
one good thing is you dont have to have a cat on pre 93 cars :D , as an emissions test is part of it, and they waver it for <1993 cars
  • I would like to add also.

I bought plates for my recently purchased rusty 88' rt4wd. It cost nearly $70. :x My last wagon, which was a 91' was only around $20. And my entire car is rotting away. I think after winter I'm looking for a donor.

why did you plates cost so much? they are around £20-30 a pair here ($30-50)
