if you look under the fuel filter, there is a rubber piece on the firewall that you can remove or pry open. run the power wire through there.

so it comes out right behind the glove?

man i know nothing about car audio :? do i really have to run the RCA cables on the other side of the car as the power cables? to avoid distortion or something? and how should i get the cables to the back? i have a friend that says the poke a hole, then to use metal wire to pull it thru the hole to the back. but then all the experts say to pull back the carpet. which would you prefer?

pull back the carpet. the hole on the firewall is plugged by a black rubber plub. don't have drill any holes on the firewall. you can stuff all the rca wires and the powerwire to the back along the lower right side (along the corner edge) of the cabin so you'll never feel the wire on the carpet.

thanks! hopefully i'll get that amp over the weekend, and be installed before school on monday :D

how much should all the wiring cost? including power, rca, etc (even the connectors, fuse and such)

you can probably go to circuit city and pick up a ampkit. I actually paid someone at CC to do it because I didn't know any better. It should have everything you need, ask the people at CC.

great! i have to find one around here. for some odd reason, the one i know around here closed down/moved. haha oh well. thanks for the help! i take it you're online too. you responded so quick

tip: run the power wire on one side of the car and RCA's on the other...

With the bung in the firewall you can just push a screwdriver through the rubber bung and then silicone it up once the wire is through. :D

why is that tho? i read that somewhere. what's the benefit of running the wires on opposite sides of the car?
  • avoids interference.

high current is going to flow through your power wire, and bleedover can mess with the low current signal in the patch cables.

thanks. if things go well, i should get an amp tomorrow, and hopefully it'll up and running by the weekend. its gonna be a used one, but if im getting a free amp and a crossover for free, i might as well try it out right?

any other tips i need to know?

oh yeah i was wondering, do any of you have a cut-off switch? so if i didnt want the amp running while the car is on, i can flip it to turn off the amp. is it as simple as just cutting the wire and putting a flip-switch in between?

My setup will soon involve a 100A circuit breaker with an off switch..

i have a friend in cali who hooked me up with an amp. it looks like a really good one. 600W amp, with a RF remote control. so i can tune the amp from within the car. sounds like a good deal.

Hi, I am trying to find the spot to run my power wire for my amp and saw you had posted some pictures, the links to which are now broken. Can you send me some pictures ? I think I found the spot you are talking about, but i cannot for the life of me find where it comes in the cabin. To me it looks like I would have to remove the glove box and a whole bunch of crap just to get to it. Your help would be MUCH appreciated.

Anyone else who has pictures or help from this thread i would appreciate it very much. I just cant seem to find where to run this dang wire! :?
