    anything that fits...
    to name a couple:

    Kia Sportage
    Subaru Legacy

OEM if you can find one...

then there are companies like Yakima and Thule that make racks for our cars.
  • Explorer and Aerostar (89' - 94')
  • i have subaru loyale on mine.

hey doodle, can you get a picture for me of the mounting feet? I've got a Thule kit on mine, but had some leaking through the doors where they mount last time it rained, and I'm wondering if I need a different fit kit. Thanks!
  • here's what my Thule rack looks like, not a close up pic of the mounts but hopefully it'll give you some ideas.

I have the OEM rails, and Thule 761 bars, and 755(757) feet

    :D

Do you have any leaking issues in rain/wash? The mounting for mine looks very similar..http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v474/ ... 050643.jpg and I'm having leaking. I can't find any part numbers on the fit kit to double check if this is the right one for the wagon or not.

I haven't had any issues with leaking, at least from the roof rack. some parts of my actually window stripping leaks (what the window rolls up into) but not when it rains, only when I wash it. and as far as I know these mounts are pretty universal. you can always try moving the mounts to different areas of the upper jam to see they stop leaking?? I have my rear bar/mounts about where you have yours, but I would try moving your front bar/mounts back a little further where the jam is a bit flatter, instead of on that curved part of the upper jam.

just got this Yakima rack yesterday...

its got 58 inch Crossbars and a 38 inch Faring.

i still need to get a bike attachment for it, and possibly more stickers  though the CH (switzerland) one looks good alone...

  • check out this link. you can check out mine. i got it from a 91 toyota 4 runner. only had to cut off about an inch on the side for it to fit. not hard at all. grab a hacksaw and cut away. i had to screw it down in my top. used short self tapping sheet metal screws but still pre drilled holes. then put some good caulk made for metal on the hole where the screw would go in and caulked each screw. no leaks yet. and we had some very hard long rain couple weeks back when we had alot of flooding here in ga. works and looks great.
  • Go with Thule, the "feet", towers that hold the bars are designed to "grip" the roof hinges more effectively than yakima's. Capable of more weight load.
