Flywheel? Lightweight OEM ok?

Is it ok to use the d15z1 lightweight flywheel with rt4wd setup?

Or do you think its better to stick with the thicker rt4wd flywheel?

thanks,
shane

I have a lightened flywheel with rt4wd and had not problems, hill starts are more dificult but thats due to the flywheel. I say If you have it why not put it on?

    It'll work fine.
if you're doing off-roading I don't know if the heavier fly may help?
    What's the VX fly weight?

I'm not sure. I should have checked while I had my HF flywheel near it. haha. They look pretty damn similar. The rt4wd is definately meatier.
  • rt flywheels are 18lbs and the 90 up d series have 15 lbs. i bought one in craigslist and shave it to around 11sh lbs. i havent had a chance to put it in.

    just my 0.02 cents

I have a 8lb flywheel on my RT. I notice it in the lower RPM's but when it gets above 2000 rpms or so, can't even tell. I'm also running a ZC so the torque is different than the stock A6.

    thanks,
