What's the secret to removing hub nuts at the yard???????

I found a 90 Ex and was trying to get the brakes, but one I couldn't get the bent tab on the hub nut out of the little gap, and two I couldn't figure out a way to lock the axle so I could loosen the dam thing. I've seen Bam-Bam's wonderful tool he made, but I have no metal working skills.
Any help would be great, I don't want to pass these up. The car is close to the point of being scrapped.

a Breaker Bar and a Pry Bar work for me...

If that doesn't work, bring a GUN, I recommend a 12 guage.. Won't get it off, But at least you'll feel better....

^^ He's right. Any kind of prybar long enough to wedge against the ground will work. Just wedge it against the lug studs. I've used a regular crowbar. I once used the shift linkage from the junker donor.

If all else fails, just pull the axle from the tranny end and take it with you! Or...if you don't want to pay for an axle pull the CV apart.

It's not necessary in my experience to bend the lock flange of the axle nut back up out of that groove. The nut will come off fine once you break it loose.

There's several ways. Here's 1. Just have a friend step on the brakes. To bend the tabs use a small screwdriver to bend it out or a chisel .You can use a portable impact gun, long cheater bar ,3/4'' drive breaker bar or what I used was a "ghetto impact wrench".What that involves is take a marker to make a reference point.Place a 1/2" ratchet on the nut.Pound the end of the handle with a 2.5 lb(1.1 kilo(aprox.) hammer a lot.Eventually you'll see the mark move. That's basically what a impact gun does. IT WORKS.

Thanks. Hopefully I can drag a friend down with me to help. I'll have to try it all. I've been back and forth from this dam yard four times already.

Stick a screw driver through the hole in the caliper and into the vented area of the rotor to lock it all in place. You might ruin a screw driver so use one you won't mind bending.. Hopefully the rotor & caliper are there...

:P Oh Ya...Forgot about that.It won't damage the screw driver.

How about a cordless impact wrench? Bring your 32mm socket from home and go to it.
