has anyone really thought about their exhaust and how important it is?
i had 90fwd with a simple B18A1 in it. stock. just air upgrade and an exhaust upgrade.
the sound of my car was throaty and strong. i had no cat, and a 5ft long resonator along the bottom and then snaked thru the stock looking basic turbo muffler... and never sounded ricey. the power out of this thing was crazy...
what are your opinions.? I also have this cool drive on ramp that is like a jiffylube pit, but 2 ft in the air. i love working on exhaust that way.

-made sure it looked as stock as possible.
-ran with 2.25 inch piping, no resonator
-performance cat
thought a lot about the muffler brand, i wanted something quiet but with still a good sound to it.. so i got a
-Borla XS muffler
no vibration, no farting, nothing. even without a resonator it sounds amazing.
can you sound stock on a 2 1/4 inch piping all the way with resonator and straight through muffler? i would loved the free flow since honda engines are high reving engines.

I had stock piping about a foot after the stock cat, that went into 2-1/4", with a resonator and muffler from a 2004 Chevy Cavalier. I think it was quieter than stock, in all honesty.
I'm looking to build an exhaust in the next few weeks, 2.5" with mandrel bends [I anticipate turbocharging soon], a high-flow Magnaflow catalytic converter, and a 14"-long 4"-round Maggie muffler with 2.5" inlet and outlet.
Design will be similar to Invidia's CRX application, but will run below the differential in the stock RT4WD location, and have the muffler and tip similar to the pic below that:
Sewer pipe status ftw.
I can duplicate the exhaust if anyone is interested, and I can build different-sized systems for those running all-motor, turbo, stock, etc. Also, if EDwEFparts will allow me to use his car for a mock-up, I can build a 2WD system as well.
yes, mine basically does. with a resonator im sure it would sound 100% stock. right now i would say its about 85% stock sounding, just has a slight deep tone at idle (only from the back of the car, standing outside) and at lower rpms. not loud, just a slight sound.
i compare it to what a stock BMW sounds like, or a bit like the Infiniti G35. sound is there, but its super subtle.
