Helical Center Differential?

I might be oversimplifying things that I don't understand but an idea came to me today that I had to investigate. What about using a FWD Helical LSD inline with a custom driveshaft to replace the viscous coupling?? Just get a custom driveshaft made with axle spline inputs to go in either side and make a little casing for the diff... I would think this would make the system much more responsive and durable.

Thoughts???

The system isn't unresponsive and/or indurable as it is.

True, but in my case of the viscous coupling going bad possibly, and it being near impossible/ affordable to replace I would think this would make a nice supplement?

Or, I've been trying to find solid information on the effects of a solid driveshaft in regards to reliability and longevity of the drivetrain

A member on here, hondawagonsts locked centre and runs it in autocross. That was quite a few years ago now but it might pay to PM him and ask.
