wago turnt on but turns right off

i will turn it on but it turns right off. if i do it 2 or 3 times it starts. what is it?

starter?


if so is the starter from the dx the same? (i have an extra one from the d15 in my garage)

    the starter has nothing to do with it if the engine cranks up (initially)

    starting but stopping immediately could be the following:

    -loose or faulty connections at the distiubtor, coil or alternator
    -insufficient fuel reaching the injectors
    -vaccum leak at the intake manifold gasket or throttle body gasket

    sounds more like a fuel thing if it cranks up the 3rd try. could be a bad main relay. do you hear the fuel pump prime when you first put the key to "on"

    when i turn it over it sounds like it does when it would normally start up. i drove it about 40 mins today and when i got to my buddies house after turning it off i tried to turn it on but it wouldn't turn over.

    ok so the starter motor wouldnt crank afterward?

    correct. it just sounded like it wanted to turn over

    it very well could be your starter went bad. also could be a low battery.
    do you hear a clicking sound from the starter?

    no clicking sound. i have an extra battery with me i will hook it up and see if it is that.

    was the battery. good thing i had an extra one with me.

    Be absolutely sure that it wasn't just a loose battery terminal that got fixed when you changed the battery before you toss the old battery.

    i wont toss the battery i need it for the other wagon for now.
