Yes, it's OBD2. The guys at Rywire.com know all about this swap and know how to make a custom harness using both OBD0(EF/ED)harness and the OBD2 harness.
Been busy these past few days, working on my home and takin' care of some other business. I did manage to fit my old ED7 Hatch armrest into the wagon. I custom made some metal brackets to give it some added support.
I went and got a paint/body quote and the cheapest I found was 1600 dollars. The car has ALOT of hail damage dings that you can barely see. And the roof skin is very flimsy...the body guys I spoke to said it's gonna be a very tedious process to get it looking new again.
My buddy just did a y8 swap in his rt4wd. If the that motor has the same casting as a y7 or y8, your RT(a6) oil pan wont fit. You're gonna have to use that one and do some careful work with a hammer.
just a little heads up.
It's been a while since my last update. My wife and I have been through a rough month. Due to complications, we had to endure a pretty painful miscarriage. Doctors don't know what caused it, or why it happened. From what he could tell us, everything was fine(bloodwork, testing etc) but this happens sometimes for no apparent reason. And it was going to be twins too.
This isn't the kinda thing I would announce, but I've already gotten a few pm's like "How's the pregnancy comin' along?" "You excited to be a Dad?" and you can almost hear the record scratch sound effect when I tell them what happened. So I figured it's best to tell it like it is, and recover with strength and faith. We're gonna try again later, so in the meantime we just been recovering both physically and emotionally...takin' it easy n stuff.
It's just kinda awkward, looking at the wagon and know the sole reason I got it was to make room a bigger family. She's cheerin' up though. She told me "Don't worry. Fix up the Wagon, and we can take a road trip and "practice" along the way lol!" So on that note, just wish us the best.
Now onto the car. I got around to ordering some brake parts for the car. I haven't taken apart the rear assemblies yet but maybe some of you can tell me whether or not these drums are the right ones. They are pretty damn big for honda drums. I also got new calipers, rotors, pads, lines and a camber kit. Have a look-see!
Kitty - "DO WANT! NOMNOM!"
Fresh Calipers/Camber Kit
Rear Drums - Are they the right ones?
Right now I am just putting the hardware on the calipers and lubing them up for tomorrow. It's insanely HOT outside right now here in Houston. The damn humidity doesn't help either.
man, im sorry to hear that things will work out in the end
wagon talk: wagons had significantly larger drums then the hatchback and sedan.
Well, the drums fit!
They were perfect OEM replicas too. I read a thread on here that claimed people were having some trouble finding drums n shoes for the wagons.
I got them at BAP-GEON. I hope you guys can make out the part numbers from the pics.
The installation went perfectly. I had to file down the brake calipers so that the SS brake lines could fit. Those metal guides where the banjo hooks up to the caliper were too narrow for the SS brake line. After a few strokes it fit perfectly.
What a difference in stopping powaz. Next is suspension!
For the past 3 weeks I had been obsessing about getting some tires mounted on this new set of wheels I have(Honda Civic Jordan OEM Wheels) and throwing them on my CRX. Well, I ended up ordering a set of Falken Azenis RT-615's and they look really nice and really bite the road hard but it just didn't look good on the CRX for some reason.
Maybe I am just used to the 14 inch OEM swirlies on it, I dunno but I just wasn't very happy with the look that they gave the car.
So on a whim I not only decided to mount the wheels on the wagon, but I also decided to swap over the entire suspension setup from the CRX over to the wagon.
The goods include:
H&R Race Springs
Tokico Illumina Adjustables
Megan Racing Strut Tower Bars(gonna switch to Neuspeeds soon)
Suspension Techniques Rear Lower Sway Bar
I got the front conversion done, and I gotta say it looks great so far. The drop is perfect. I didn't get the chance to snap pics but I will tomorrow when the sun is nice n bright.
As for the CRX.
It's gonna be outta order for a little while. Gonna get some funds together for a new suspension setup along with new bushings.
man i want one of those center concils so bad your interior is mint
I keep getting pms from people asking if I wanna sell it.
I thought these things were pretty common. I've seen them before without the ashtray and cigarette lighter(they have sort of a pocket).
I couldn't sell it even if I wanted to. The previous owner had the center plastic cut at an angle so that the console would go on easy...not sure why...so I have to keep that piece there to keep it looking nice.
i would say, dont cut the coils, i know a full suspension set up is like super pricey...but safety first!
You'd better find your cammera!
Well, I think I am gonna go with your advice, because I was looking at the car and thought "if I ever have passengers in the backseat the back of the car is really gonna go low...and if it goes lower then I am gonna need all the extra support I can get" so yeah, I am gonna leave it.
The front tires are nearly tuckin, and have hardly any camber at all so I may not need a camber kit.
The rear is going to need some shimming to adjust the camber in the rear because it's painfully obvious in the back.
I had HELL trying to find the passenger side axle for this thing. NOBODY had it. Even after ordering it from different suppliers none of my local auto shops could match it up, so I ended up having it rebuilt. Anyone have part numbers on the axles for the 4wd model?
One thing I noticed was the noise coming from the rear end. It almost sounds like when you rub your fingers over the surface of a balloon...it only happens when I go over bumps of course but you hear it squeak like mad. Think it's the sway bar? Speakin' of sway bar, that thing is amazing! I have it on the stiffest setting and that thing is STRONG(suspension techniques). I jacked up the front passenger side to put on a tie rod and the whole rear passenger side came up with it and had hardly any wheel/fender gap!
I spent most of the day working on the car and searching for my camera and it's still missing. I may just have to go buy a new one

btw, I pray for you and your wife the best!
Gotta find my frikkin camera!! It's driving me mad!
Thank you, Sir.
Peace be with you too.
I got done putting on the suspension today and I am really wondering whether or not to cut 2 coils off the rear springs.
The front is a PERFECT drop imo, and the rear has a slightly bigger gap(HR Race Springs on Tokico whites).
The jordans look really nice too...excuse me while I go hunt down me camera!!!
