nice to see that there was a wagon there.
and at least you were out there.
next step is racing.
thread jack (utah auto-x):
yeah it was in pocatello.... i would have raced, just didnt get there early
enough and had to leave by 1:30 to be to work back in idaho falls by 2:30,
wish i could have; i raced this event last year...
that's a pretty cool picture.
so is that at the airport where they have octoberfast?
yeah at the airport... there is summerfast, (im not sure if this is what this event was called)
and octoberfast...
It is the same place. Might be earlier this year as the last few years have got snowed out. Were you planning on going to it? Its basically a Idaho vs Utah challange on the yearly. Theres a traveling trophy involved and all that happy horseshit. Its usually a pretty good time.
i'll be one event short of finishing with points, so i kind of have to if i want to see how i do point wise.
maybe we could get together after if i do go.
If you go would you plan on staying for the whole event or just one day? Either way, a bunch of us either camp (weather dependant of course) or all get rooms. Drinking to follow, lol. Reguardless of how long you stay, I say we get Bill to come up to either race or just hang and we got get some snaps of the wagons and shoot the shit for a few.

Next one is a 2 day demo for the big boy toy expo at the fairgrounds on June 6 & 7th. Then my race on Old Freezeout Road is going down on the 27 & 28th of June.
i will race and any wagon owner is welcome to stay at my casa...
i'd prob. do both days if we camped and kept costs down.
and i'd love to hang out/take pics of the wagons (no drinking for me).
does not compute...
hahaha
: )
We are allowed to camp right next to the event, so providing the weather is good, thats an easy one. Wake up, full throttle.
Hotel row is a ways away, about 10 minutes. Either way, the event is a good one to hit. The airport has expanded the area we are allowed to play on, so that makes for a good 3rd gear course. I was able to spike a 1.6 lateral g (iphone app) on one of the sweepers after the straight last year. Plus thier events are very laid back.
The event is Sept. 25, 26, & 27th. We should defiantly plan something. Thats a nice easy drive for all of us. 3 hours for me, 45 min for Bill, and what 2-3 hours from the SLC area? Sept camping might be iffy, in fact, Id guess its not an option from years past at this event, lol. Could definalty go in on a room if it worked out for everyone too. Keep in mind that Lava Hot Springs is within an hour of Poky too. That place is kickass.
raise one eyebrow and both ears...
lift one paw...
wiggle your tail...
and make a funny whine...
and you'll be ok...
ok?
Hell ya! Start workin her now
Not that Utah needs any help on the challange. You guys have some great drivers in your area...and I always end up running against the fastest guys in my class and usually get stomped. I believe it was a silver Evo with all the rear interior stripped last year that had two drivers. Not sure what the stats are, but I think weve each held that trophy about the same amount of time.
There was even talk of getting Montana involved in the challange, but they had a bigger race last year in thier area that kept thier attendance down, so nobody really showed from thier region.
but i prob. won't be.
was the driver of the evo asian?
i might know the kid.
it's a super sick evo.
And hell ya never know. Ive lost my fair share of races. Dont sell yourself short
