    Go Canucks Go!

Sadly, the Canucks got eliminated :( ... So too did the flag from my car

    ^ haha... at that flag.
    looks pretty good.
    get that rear fender fixed.

Yeak minor bodywork is on the agenda... got the bondo already to go, just need the time (that old chestnut). Other plans (hopes) include some fog lights mounted to the front of the cargo pod, a custom "beagle bar" and some lift, maybe some bigger tires (engine swap). There's too many sweet clean lowered wagons for me to compete with, I want the mini SUV look - but I can't afford a CRV!
  • What year and model of the cargo cover do U have? Orginal Civic or something else?
    thanks!
  • ScallyWagScallyWag Wagonist
Sorry no idea what make / model the cargo cover was from... the rear edge was very curved, suggesting a roundish hatch... Maybe a civic or CRV? Could have been anything really! Search for " Cargo Cover" - I've got some more minor details and pics there

    that might be interesting.
    if done clean.

Yeah about that... I prefer the dirty, rough, utilitarian look, I mean, who doesn't like Mad Max? With the price of gas these days I just might have to convert to pig shit for fuel! :D Here I am with a fellow RT4WD... One with only 660cc of raw power! I wonder about parts commonality with the Civic.. I know the Real Time 4WD decals were the same, ditto for the steering wheel...

Or a Civic powertrain swap into the van body would be super sick! (Like, terminal even)

Love the door decal. Get that rust fixed and you'll be golden. Looks like the valve cover off my old 95 coupe.

Ah, my poor southern neighbors... up here you can import / insure / register and DRIVE any import vehicle, as long as it's over 10(?) years old - we have all kinds of cool JDM cars trucks and vans here. Some importers set up dealerships with nothin but used Japanese cars, many of them "Kai" (very light) cars - with a maximium 660cc engine and teensy tiny bodies. There are high performance models imported (RHD Nissan 300ZX, Skylines etc) as well as 4wd camper style vans (Delicas etc) and trucks (Panjero). Most popular are Kai trucks, which are built by all the manufacturers and are almost always white, with 4wd, fold down bed sides and cabs that require a shoehorn for anyone over 5'10". Here are some pics of my trip to the JDM dealer - I should probably start a new thread for cool JDM cars, rare in North America.

A Honda "Beat" - 660cc's but very light - turbocharged?

A limo van - with power curtains!

Oh, the Japanese flair for engrish - how'd you like to have one of these on yer ass in traffic?
    486.jpg
Bet it's a shitty ride!
  • Just finished writing an update / opus all about the wagon... spent 2 hrs... pressed "submit" and had timed out, so was automatically sent to the log-in screen... lost my homework :(

Will attempt to find the courage to re-write it tmw
    bump for struggling in vain?

    that cargo cover is gangsta...=D
  • UPDATE: Goin to get my muffler fixed today... hope to take some up-skirt pics with the wag on a lift... It's easier than mirrors on my shoes ...
  • Managed to put a small puncture in my muffler can (rock crawling)... But after driving through some hard-pack snow and bristle-y shrubs in the middle of a trail, my finger-sized hole became this:
    376.jpg
    377.jpg

My mechanic quoted me $200 for a stock muffler, labour extra. I'm sure I could do the labour, but I couldn't source the part for cheaper :( ... and I didn't wanna do the same damage to the next one...

Took it to a muffler shop, got me a sweet new Thrush Glasspack:
    378.jpg

It's the smallest one they make - only 3" o.d. X 12" long! Plus I had the muffler man shorten the hanger bolts and "tuck" the can up for better ground clearance, and expand the tip to 2". All other exhaust components remain stock. "Only" $200, all in (the muffler shop down the street quoted me $350!).

Oh yeah - It sounds much better too 8)
  • Dash-N-CarsDash-N-Cars Senior Wagonist
Your old muffler looks identical to mine, you could put your hand over the exhaust tip with the car running and no exhaust was coming out... there were that many holes in it...plus someone replaced all the hangers with speaker wires wrapped up and tied together...

Had the muffler shop weld me in a straight pipe that goes over the LCA and straight out the back, instead of snaking back and forth. Put a muffler on the end and was done with it, 80 bucks... can't beat that!

    Good looking wagon!
  • 80 bucks! Ah the power of the American Dollar... enjoy it while it lasts
PS - looks are decieving... the wag's rusty, dented, heavily used, dirty and scratched....
just the way I like it! - covered in beauty marks! :)
  • Dash-N-CarsDash-N-Cars Senior Wagonist
    yes...beauty marks....

if they are beauty marks then my car is a damnd super model

Hi everyone! I'm back from my long hiatus... Bought me a Fit, and recently a Eurovan Westy, which now takes up most of my HCW time.... infact, the wagon has been " put out to pasture" on my parent's farm... thinking of selling :(

Also, just came back from a two week long, 10,000 km roadtrip to Dawson City, Yukon Terr. There are seldom few highways in the province that I haven't driven now, and I saw some crazy stuff out there... 24 hrs of daylight, glaciers, waterfalls, wildlife, and the vastness of the boreal forest.

Anyways, glad to be back on HCW.com! (Whaddid I miss? )
