Hood release cable broke, can't open hood!

Well i knew my hood release cable was on it's way out, but didn't expect this. It broke this morning, completely disconnected from under the hood. How the heck do i get the hood open, i was out there for about an hour trying to get my hand in there and feel around with no luck at all.

    try by removing your front bumper (takes literally less then 10 minutes) and using a set of needle-nose pliers to grab whatever cable is left near the release.

    where exactly did it snap? or you dont know...

    took the bumper off, like you said, 10 minutes. got it to open, but the cable is definitely toasted. the plastic piece about 2" from the end of the cable that clips into place has separated from the cable and floats freely.

    since you going to have to put in a new cable you might want to think about this.

    Its a integra he is doing it on but it all works the same thing.

    What's that copper tube running to the back of the car? By any chance, is it the rear windshield washer tube? That would explain the problem with mine...

    its tinted rubber :P and yes its for rear windshield wiper fluid.
