looks slick.... did you ever replace the engine? Saw on CS that you had some horrible noises coming from under the hood about a week back.
Totally cracks me up that your still rollin with that supertrapp.
Here's a pic of it when it was still on my old xr500...
Still searching for a motor to throw in it, found a couple but couldn't act quickly enough. Muffler will be addressed when the new motor goes in, going to have Nick @ MCS fab my up something 2.5" or so with a stubby Burns muffler.
nice... god forbid anybody get a look at the trick exhaust it's running right now!!! It was defanantly a temp quick fix just to get the fumes out of the cab.
Car looks good! very nice work
The end result was me just ditching 2 of these bastards per side:
In that 1st pic, the bottom collar is supposed to be screwed tight against the bottom of the shock body, not against the top 2 collars. The bottom collar is to lock the threaded portion of the shock into the bottom housing. You could also probably thread the shock down further into the bottom housing if it's not already bottomed out, and that would get you lower still without having to resort to removing the extra collar.

Got the ride height of the rear where I wanted to, only way more ghetto than I had originally planned for! Pic was taken during the un-install, this is me removing the lower section of the coilover. I'd been riding perch on perch on perch with no thread underneath showing, This configuration still left me with 1/2" of gap, soooo....
hey you wagoneers 7 hours south of me wouldnt have a good ls b18a1 distributer laying around would ya? need one bad. pm me about that please, and thanks for any help.

The Supertrap muffler in all the pics is no longer on the car, if you'd like it, It's between Mesa and Redd heading west. Should be just off to the shoulder. Heard a funny dragging sound, knew what it was and I just couldn't bring myself to stop and check, drug it for about 2 miles until it finally took off on it's own just after the Mesa exit. Took it from 85MPH to 90 and told myself not to look at anyone who passes me.
In better news, I scored a Z6 block with a spun bearing from "anuthahonda" for $25, it's sitting at MCS, torn apart for all intents and purposes. I need to get over there and pull the crank out so it can be good to go machining.
Also Paypal'd a guy on D-Series.org for a Z6 head, minus dizzy. $70 shipped. let's hope he comes through.
Now it's a matter of piecing together the internals as far as choosing just how "budget" I want the build to be... I know I'm boosting it down the road and I'd really like to just build this motor once but the other part of me wants to be frugal and just bare bones it to make it reliable. We'll see, having two motors helps.

Well, he didn't. The next morning he'd PM'd me that he refunded me the money because it was "too cold to pull the head" and he didn't realize it was missing the VTEC solenoid. Too cold to pull a head in Kansas? :hsugh:
Oh well, the same day I Paypal'd another dude $65 for one, complete minus dizzy, looks like it arrived today.
Decided to just hone the Z6 block and re-ring the pistons/rods plus whatever machining the crank might need (spun bearing). That means my A6 head is getting the most basic of "preventative" rebuilds here soon so that the Wagon might actually have a motor that doesn't use oil at the same rate as gas.
Ok, so it looks like I might just nab a kit like one of these: 1, 2 or 3. I haven't called around locally, wasn't sure anyone would sell a complete kit like this? Vato Zone, Checkers, Pep Boys? Anyone have anything to say about the pump that are included? I know the FJD kit (3) is pretty highly regarded in the SOHC community and the #2 eBay link looks pretty similar, so I'm thinking about going with that.
So here's my current, changing daily build plan: Keep up, it's confusing. I was planning on using the Z6 bottom end and my current A6 head as a "commuter motor", meaning it was going to be a budget build just to get a non0oil burning motor in the wagon. Now I'm thinking that since I've now got a "complete" Z6 motor (VTEC!) I may as well just keep putting around on my A6 and reasonably build the Z6 (not for boost) and keep the tired old A6 once I swap them out and build that block for boost.
I got the Z6 head in the mail yesterday and since it's going to go on either block one way or another, I am prepared to spend more money on the head rebuild than the block, for now. Any things I should pay special attention to with these heads?
That's cool, I don't really talk about it since it's not running right currently. I'm sure once the EVO's bugs are worked out, that I'll be stupid enough to track the wagon, so just give it time.
Off topic, I know, but today I took the first DSLR picture of the EVO in over a years time all shined up for a shop grand opening and wanted to share my other ride that I'm about to pull the motor on (again):
Basically I've been busy trying to get the wagon's "DD Status" back to where it should be... From our local forum:
So Friday CW's father Wayne took a look at my AC and figured out what was wrong. One of my fans died which caused the AC system to get hot and build pressure once it started getting warmer a couple of months back and blew a pressure release on the compressor. So now I'm looking for an 88-91 Civic/CRX radiator fan, and hopefully I can just replace the blown release valve and have Mr. Ward evacuate and recharge the system so I can cruise cool. :noes:
Wayne knows his shit and I recommend him as a mechanic. Whatever issue you've got, he can probably diagnose it and fix it for you. :bigthumb:
Then, on Saturday, Tom (T.Rex) installed a good majority of the bushings from my Energy Suspension "master" kit, car feels a lot better. Most of the little vibrations from the old, worn out OEM bushings are gone, I love it. He also did my front wheel bearings and front ARP extended studs. He had my car for about 5 1/2 hours and the price was GREAT. :bigthumb:
Very pleased with the work he did and sometime soon he'll be finishing up the ARP studs in the rear, some ES bushings he wasn't able to get to that day and my recently ordered rear trailing arm bushings (can't believe they weren't in the kit).
Also this coming weekend (hopefully) Nick @ MCS will be tackling my new exhaust, which will essentially be a 2.5" catback.
Anyways, just placed another order, trying to get this fucking thing to be a proper Honda. :hs:
BLOX Universal 2.5" "Racing" Muffler
Energy Suspension Trailing Arm Bushing Set
Brembo OEM Replacement Brake Rotors
MagnaFlow Piping 2.5" - 45*
MagnaFlow Piping 2.5" - U-Bend

So you're suggesting 13" or 14" wheels in the front and keeping the 15" in the back? You like the drag racer raked look or what?

Please read what I was doing:
It happens, at least you were worried about my safety!

There was a guy looking for one a week or so ago, not sure if he ever found one/more than one?
I'm thinking I'm throwing one (per side) of the coilover "locks" that I pulled back in the rear, since it seems to sit lower than the front now. :?
Gone. Fell off on the way back from EP earlier this week.
And a pic for reading all of that shit:
are you ever going to do it?
Do what?
it looks like a local "track day/event".
Boo to drag racing, besides, the wagon is my DD the EVO is the "track car".
i forgot you have an EVO.

nice prop...
Once again, your post makes no sense to me. Was that a boat reference or something along the lines of the EVO's weight?
: )
The car handles fine. It's an EVO, they're kinda designed with handling in mind.
Nice prop.
so it was chit chat...
either that orrr...
forget the batcar...
give me the those keys...
Trying to get the AC back working like I should.
