Draw tite hitch?

I know absolutely ZERO about hitches, And how they work/mount.

Can anyone tell me if the trailer hitch from a Regular civic would bolt into our wagons? Here is a picture of the one I found for pretty cheap. Will this work? Apparently it’s a “Draw-tite trailer hitch off 1990 Honda civic” but I cant find the application on the “draw tite” website.

It may not fit without modification, but BUY IT. I've seen one like it on a (sedan?) in the junkyard, but couldn't get it off because the car was sitting on it.
it'd be a good starting point just for the brackets.

    +1

I wish I could get my hands on something like that and upgrade from my tow bar. I am guessing thats a 1 1/4" receiver which is fine, still more capable then my setup. I would guess that the wagon would need to drop a bit more; but I do know that the brackets are almost a guarantee to fit since the rail bolt pattern for the tow points/sway bar drop brackets are the same. Same reason we can bolt up a EF bracket in place of my tow point.

If its cheap I'd definitely buy that; would be simple to modify with a couple hours weld time.

If it's like the one I've seen (and it looks to be), it's not a receiver hitch, Just a flat drawbar mounted to the cross tube. Still easily enough modified...
  • All of the above is lost on me lol. Guess its time to start some reading.

Basically in the future Id like to use my wagon to tOW a dolly. On that dolly would be my hatchback.

I was hoping this would allow me to do that.

Guy only wants 25 bucks for it, we will see.
  • IDK mang, that's alot of weight.

buy it. It's as close as you'll come to a real hitch for your wag. I will buy it from you if you don't dig it.
  • you can still get a wagon specific hitch here in Germany but the cost might scare most of you away (4-500 USD). Luckily my wagon came with one installed.

there is a thread tellin what you can tow with the wagon. you might wanna reconsider hauling another car with your wagon. that is a lot of weight for a little car. i wouldnt tow over 1000 lbs with a wagon.

I'd be nervous towing over 500lb without serious brake upgrades. The wagon is light and does an 'OK' job just stopping itself.

My wagon has a hitch installed, but no ball at the moment.

How much are these wagos rated to tow anyways?

there is a link for towing in the "exterior quicklinks" part of the "bodywork & cosmetic mod" forum.
