Honda says.....

They have no more rear differential dampers part number 50716-sh9-000 and no more differential insulators part number 50721-sh9-010. Is there any other parts that will work that come on other cars? I was looking at the insulator and it looks identical to the rear motor mount that sits on the sub frame in 88-91 civics. I havnt gotten out to the pick a part yet to get one and look so I figured I would ask first.

On a lighter note here are some pics of my re-covered head liner. Couldnt find anything in tan or brown. Black just goes well with everything.

  • I bought one here in Canada just last week. Maybe Honda Canada still has some stock. Let me know if you want/need help getting one.

Im thinking of the website. what did you end up paying for the one you got?

About $41 Canadian with the taxes in, which roughly equals about $34 US. You'd have to cover shipping which might be abother $8 max.

About what they are here. If the website doesnt come through I will be sending you money
  • I purchased mine from Ron Tonkin Gresham Honda for $35 or so, probably closer to what Jakers said but in USD!

That's odd. I went to the obrien Honda here in salem. They bought out the delon. The guy in the parts department looked like a cross between a hippy and a meth head so I will call other dealers aroundthe Salem/Portland area
  • What the heck? Did you put a latch-hook rug on your headliner?!?

The way that the chicken bars and dome light stick out is pretty cool. But it looks almost an inch thick. It must be an optical illusion.

I was at the dealer yesterday for something else, and asked what stock was like on the mount. If you want one, speak up now. There's 1 left in Canada.

If you do end up going to Pick a Part, and they have an RT4WD, I need a motor mount. I need the one that is welded to the unibody on the passenger side, just behind the battery. The one that the bolt goes through into the mount that is bolted to the end of the tranny. I need it carefully removed from the chassis. Probably easiest to just take a sawzall or an angle grinder, and cut the unibody around the outside of the mount about 2" away on all sides. I can then drill out the spot welds here and prep it for my install.

If you do that for me, I'll buy you the rear diff mount and send it for $8 shipping.

You can just plasma the mount off any civic and weld it back in. Thats what we did with my b16 swap in a crx. just moved the mounts so they were where the should be like in a integra. As for the mount I am not sure when i can get it. the coil overs are going in today in 30 mins! But I have a dentist apt tomorrow to get the 4 wisdom teeth out. so thats gonna be fun.

I`m converting my 2WD Wagovan to use the RT4WD transmission. I want to do it a cleanly as possible. The RT4WD mount is a direct fit to the 2WD chassis if you drill out the spot welds. That`s how I`ve decided to do it. I thought you were thinking of going to the Pick a Part to see if they had a mount for you. I figured you knew they had an RT4WD manual. That`s why I suggested this.

or you can do it the right way and get a spot weld drill bit, they run 8-15 bucks and its much easyer way to attack the job.
and than back weld the bracket thru the drilled out spot welds back on the new car. nice and clean and done right nobody will ever know you did it

If you have mad skills, steady hand, and a grinder it will look totally stock and hold more then the stock welds. You will need a grinder anyways to smoth out the spot welds you drilled so I would go the easier, faster, more stronger way. but thats just me.

You're both right. I do have a spot weld drill bit. That is what I used to take the mount off the chunk of unibody the wrecker gave me with the mount (yes, I found one). That is also what I used to take most of the OEM mount off my 2WD chassis. Then I used my angle grinder to clean off the last bits of the OEM mount and spot welds from my chassis. It's now ready to be welded on. I just need to go buy that used MillerMatic 172 on Tuesday, and I'll be in business.

Nice pics. I would do the spot welds then run a bead around the whole thing. i know the way honda does it is fine and all but i always think about the worst case situation
  • sorry to bump an old thread... but what wheels are those jaker?

Yup! 17x9 in the back and 17x7.5 in the front. I tried to get another pair of 17x9s but it seems they are discontinued by Falken :( .
  • sucks you cant get parts anymore...thats what scares me about these cars.

i just got my rear insulator in from my honda in california
i just hope this prevents my car from rocking back and forth if not would really really worn trailing arm bushings cause the motor to rock and sway when i shift hard if the rest of the mounts are good? ( or so they seem.. )
