my 91 rt4wd [for sale] 90 sedan [new project]

well this isnt gonna be a full build yet cause im broke as of now. its gonna be slow and prolly nothing will be done again till the summer. :(

i picked up the wagon from ThinkFab. thanks for being cool and lettin me use some tools.

its a 91 rt4wd. a complete virgin...just the way i like them.

some stuff i did and wanna do

engine
-d16a6
-6spd
-LuK clutch (off eBay...hope it lasts)
-new timing belt/water pump
--plans
-d16z6 turbo/supercharged?
-OBD0 to OBD-1 for tuning
-steam-cleaned asap

interior
-scrubbed for like 7 hrs and its still not very clean :(
-Pioneer DEH-P6000 Head Unit
-Pioneer 5 1/4 door speakers
-Pioneer 6 1/2 rear speakers w/ speaker pods
-no further plans

exterior
-completely stock
-16" 5zigens/summer
--plans
-front lip (si hatch or da)
-full repspray...thinkin YR-88 w/blue metallic (lemme know what you guys think)
-new hatch

suspension
--plans
-full body coilovers either ksport or skunk2
-civic rear sway bar

first thing is the suspension. that will be this summer. that a6 still pulls hard and doesnt burn oil so im not worried bout the engine right now.

haha... this happened to me and my bro with his '69 vw bus. we found 5 dead cats in it. so we called it "the cat house."

that looks a mess! you have cleaned it up good though. Good luck with the build
  • thanks for the kind words. its a huge project! i cant wait till spring so its not so cold outside.
  • looks like a pretty good find for a northern michigan wagon
  • well it warmed up some so i pulled the wagon in the garage and fixed the rust on both front doors. i painted a red sprat bomb over the area just till the spring when i do a full respray. i also painted a black stripe since the moulding is off. dont worry the black stripe was for fun.

there was a rust hole behind the trim on the drivers side and just a lil rust on the pass side. both in the same spot. i welded metal in and ground all the rust off the metal. then i filled with fiberglass. its not perfect but its only to prevent further rusting till spring. i put tape over the holes for the clips. the mouldings will go back on this summer.

need to wash the fiberglass dust off my car

  • i bought some cheap eBay springs and did the top hat mod. needs some more adjusting after the springs settle a lil. and the pass side front tire is in a hole so its not really that low compared to the other tires. i did 1 7/8" in the front and 2" in the rear.

i also painted my valve cover for fun. still need to get my bay cleaned though.

I put in cd player and 4 pioneer speakers recently. i bout some speaker pods from the marketplace. they were blue and my interior is gray so used some SEM vinyl dye with the plastic adhesion promoter. i couldnt use the OEM covers so i just painted the pioneer covers black also. it looks good. i used the color "landeu black".

those looks pretty good man. looks like the wagon needs a good scrubbing, inside and out and underneath

i know. its hard when you live on a dirt road and driveway.

lol i can imagine. at my school the side parking lot is gravel, and when its dry its super dusty, and when it rains its pure gray mud all around :x its a lose-lose situation.
  • durfeecdurfeec Wagonist
and it doesnt matter if you go 15 or 45 your car still gets filthy. i hate it.

i like those wheels on wagons (skinny's wagon).
  • durfeecdurfeec Wagonist
i like them too but im really mad i painted them white cause i didnt know he had the same rims in white. prolly wont stay white long anyways.
  • What about bronze again?!? Bronze looks good on red wagons or maybe a gunmetal.
  • durfeecdurfeec Wagonist
i dont think its staying red. im gonna do a full coloer change when it gets warm and stays warm. i just dont know what color yet.

    thanks

i bought some eBay strut bars. the rear bar was to long so i had to cut it down. doesnt look bad and made a huge difference. but i went to put the front on and the bracket that bolts to the body doesnt let me bolt the fuse box back down. it wasnt this way with my crx so idk what to do. i went and looked on eBay and the front strut bars for a 91 civic are all the same. anyone else with this problem?

i have one on my wagon. only one side of the fuse box wouldn't reattach, but it's still mounted on the other side.

yeah i got an ebay strut bar from a friend and it didnt allow me to bolt the front side of the fuse box, so i left it unbolted.
also the strut bar itself was too short, so eventually i just took it off cause it wasnt doing anything anyways.
  • i didn't have any problem with my front one being to short. i did have a problem with the rear one being to long so i just took the two nuts off of the threaded ends and threaded them in really far, but i no longer how the rear strut bar.
  • durfeecdurfeec Wagonist
yeah my rear one was to long but i just cut a lil off both ends to still use the nuts and works fine now. ill just leave one bolt out i guess. thanks guys
  • no problem!
