How To Front Lip?

alrighty, after a trip to the parts shop, and an exchange, i finally have the right part. silly me thought it was the '96 accord lower valance. went back and got the '94 lower lip. now that i have it, how do i start at it? i was hoping to get this on before tomorrow, since its that car show i mentioned a couple of months ago. but i ran into a problem......

i lined it up, and when its centered, its about an inch sticking out on each side. i know i have to cut the ends to fit the bumper, but i dont want to cut the middle out. How did you guys fit this on?! i tried force-fitting it, but it just pushed out in the center, so it looked bubbley. not gonna do that.

i know NJ did this mod, and so the his sister car. mrwagovan used the '89 teg front lip, and that pretty much lined up without a problem. Could anyone with the accord front lip help me out?

Well, I don't know how everyone did this mod but here's how we did ours. We did ours with the bumper cover off the car. First, I centered the accord lip where I wanted it and drilled two screws where the bumper and lip meet to hold it in place. Note: the center of my lip sticks out a bit. I then made one cut one each side to determine where I'm going to make my next cut so they meet. Once that is done then and I made the last cut on the end of the bumper where the bumper ends. I then screwed the 3 pieces on the bumper and then the body shop molded the lip together to make it one again. Im sure there's probably a easier way but I think its the only way I got it to fit the way I wanted. Below is where I made my cuts. Hope that helps.........
