Where to get rear drums for the 90-91 RT4WD???

Does anyone know where to get rear drums for the 90-91 RT4WD? I am running into dead ends with all the parts stores as they are trying to sell me the smaller sized drums. Ordering these from Honda directly will cost a fair bit and may take longer than expected. Apparently mine are not able to be re-surfaced and I'm in need of new ones soon so I can get back on the road

I was able to find an acdelco part that would have fit if they didnt go ahead and discontinue it :(

anyone with part numbers or sources for any?? your help is much appreciated

Thanks!

  • Here is a company I deal with for some of my wagon stuff. They even have the civic shuttle listed.

Anyways here is a snip from their website www.rockauto.com

funny you mention rock auto. I did place an order with them a few days ago for the ACdelco part that I previously mentioned, paid (havent even got refund yet) and they called me up the next day to tell me they were discontinued / no longer available. All of the other drums listed on the site are the smaller sized drum.

  • ooops sorry man.

not too sure if u have kragen auto parts where ur at but thats who I ended up going through when I needed front axles for my rt4wd wago. Also if u cant find any, Ill sell u my old drums for 10.00 plus actual shipping if u want. Yes theyre used but im converting to disc in the rear so theyre going in tha garbage end of the week. And yes rear disc is a pain...even though I did it on my last 2wd. Keep us posted on ur progress with ur drums.
  • yea having a hard time finding anything rear brake related myself :x had this car for over a year now and still need rear brakes. oh they say they can order them, they come in and they are the wrong ones every time! then they say oh yea they are 7 7/8 size and we made a mistake we can reorder, well ive done this at 3 differant parts stores with all the same results! now it seems with all the trouble that rear disks can be it may just be easyer to go that route than keep the drums!

My '89 rt4wd drums are exactly the same as my "93 coupe drums
so that might be easier to get parts for

If the drums on the INTRAC are the same as the regular RT4WD then all good!
  • I am having a problem finding drums for my 4wd wagon also. Does anyone know if advanced or auto zone has the correct drums? It seems that every time I call advanced for a wagon part, they claim to have it, and when I pick it up it is the wrong thing. Is there any place that sells the correct drum besides a honda dealer?

:!: NOT :!: The drum is Wagon Specific.

The problem currently is that some Data entry idiot some where has entered the Wagon drum as a Ordinary Civic drum. That's why we're getting the small civic drums.
  • If anyone gets desperate, I have 2 sets of Wagovan RT4WD rear drums that I won't be using. They're used, and if you really need them, I'll measure them to make sure they're still good. They look OK to me.

All I ask is the total cost of shipping, plus $10 for my time to pack them up and get them shipped.

I wouldn't trust Advanced to get it right. Twice they ordered me a left front axle, and it was for a FWD even though they entered my car in the computer correctly as AWD (I have an intermediate shaft and therefore need a shorter axle than FWD models).

At least you don't need rear brakes very often. Good luck, and let us know if you find a reliable source!

they both are for me. mind you mine are both JDM... but i have had the drums off my shuttle and coupe and compared the shoes and drums and they are exactly the same. same markings on them. 201mm if i remember

Yours is also INTRAC and the INTRAC had bigger drums than my FWD Civic Pro that's for sure.

oh okay... Well i have it easy to find drums lol
  • Is everybody having the same problem finding rear brake shoes also?
I hope not because I wanna put new shoes in the rear when I finally get around to putting my DA spindles/ brakes on the front.

Usually they say yes and then what turns up it hatchback drums. You should get them to verify that there are different part numbers.

I will head up there today to have the parts verified.

    Found some!

    Bap Geon does carry them.

Check the pics for part numbers. The maker is OP Parts.
