1991 wagon headunit install Quick Q

Tried searching:
Either way going to be installing a Pioneer headunit into my 91 wagon.
Went to get an install kit, guy said I didnt need one. I remember removing the previous headunit and it had a mounting plate with 2 screw holes, I gave that back to the previous owner.
Is it true I don't need an install kit?? Was that mounting plate OEM?

You just need to use that aluminum square bracket it comes with. That is all I used for mine.
Alright good stuff, thanks!
Time to hit up the junkyard then.
-you don't eat up the stock wiring
-you can solder it to the radio harness outside of the car (much easier) which typically gives you a better connection than crimps, that is if its a good soder, then you just snap it in there and wham bam thank you ma'm, you're done
Finally I actually contribute rather than just ask questions
I already have the harness, I work at Best Buy and its only buck with my employee discount.
Yes, you can see it on Majestic Honda.
You work at best buy, so do I, which department do you work in?
