EXHAUST ROUTING

Does any1 have theirs exiting on the right? If so - did you cut a groove for the muffler tip?

Can you post pics on what your shop did about the rear, it's really hard to determine the routing I want for mine --- it's HIDEOUS. I have a good mind to fab up a side exit before the rear tires.

That looks good - I spotted this pic on a CO board. ;) It looks mighty low though... but it's definitely an option.

The previous owner on mine definitely has a ghetto setup --- I intend to remedy that before I leave Colorado this weeekend.

oh word, yah i have hit the rear section once and hardly at all.
    the header however hits everything.

I have a 91 DX - cappucinno. I will make a thread about it soon.
  • Mine is routed through the trailing arm and then out of the stock location.

So you basically put a notch there (u-bend) or did u try to take it straight through w/out a bend.
  • I know my pics are of a just the stock exhaust but if you are getting the exhaust done at a shop try to get them to push it up as far as the can between the LCA mount and the rear diff brace.

Mine actually takes that route, although it's aftermarket. I hate all of those 10 degree bends though...

if i was to do a custom exhaust i would ditch the 90 at the back muffler. the exhaust would come out under the other tail lights. cut a new slot in the bumper. leaves empty spot on bumper where old exhaust was... i don't care.

I did exactly as quarters said. Got rid of the restrictive 90 bend at the rear, welded on a 20 dollar fart can.

I made a custom Mandrel bent 2.5 system using the stock route, a full sized muffler (9x4x23ish), dual tips as close to stock as I could find, a 3' resonator, and a custom dp to clear the awd shit. Love it. Looks stock and isnt all that lond till 8500-9000rpms.

I looked into the Borla muffler that comes highly recommended from other members, but it was way more than the Magnaflow and two weeks out. I do wanna try one though...someday.

And just as a reference, if you use mandrel bends where you have bends, they are gonna cause a lot less restriction so you can use the stock route, unless you just want something different. I just like to cause less attention to myself from the local honda hating police.

    what are those red things?
  • BABY JBABY J New Wagonist
    dual flux-capacitors
  • after-market compensator arms (also called rear toe arms)... they are for adjusting toe on the rear wheels.

Nope, not in back. All that hits on the norm is the front of the 3' resonator. I hit the rear section if I angle my driveway wrong, but its not all that often.

Correct on the rear toe adjusters, the dual flux-capacitors were on backorder and Im impatient so I said screw it. Toe adjusters by Suspension Techniques.
