K thanks for the info I just got a 1990 Wagon FWD for 500 bucks everything works on it barely any rust. I'm in the process of taking all the interior out and redoing it all black and doing full suspension and motor swap so there will be pics posted of the progress.

    even for the 4wd too?

Yes although you might want to up the springrate a bit as the 4WD is slightly porkier.

any clue as if this fits the 1g wagon?
  • any clue as if this fits the 1g wagon?

    No.
What you need are parts from 1g crx.
A couple suspensions suggestions/facts based on my own trial and error.

    Front
You can still find Koni reds for the front shocks. Mine were surprisingly cheap on Ebay.
Our fronts don't use a springs. We use torsion bars. Get CRX bar at 24mm.
Our front height is actually adjustable, you can lower it by adjusting two nuts. Obviously, don't over do it.

    Rear
The springs come out so ridiculously easy. Jack the rear end up and take a look. Once you get an idea the kind of dimensions we're talking, you can put any type of spring in there you want. I used the front pair of 90-93 Accord Suspension Techniques springs. Given that they were progressive rates and designed for a larger vehicle, I had no issues justifying the cutting of two coils.
I just used stock replacement shock...Monroe Sensa-trac. Despite their cheap ass rep, they performed pretty decently considering the springs are from a much larger car.

    Thread Jacking

Taking over a thread on a message board by taking a part of the original posted topic, twisting it around and "hijacking" the thread itself. What happens is that the original content contained in the post becomes moot and whatever the "Thread Jacker" has manipulated the content to be becomes the new content thereby "hijacking" the original intent of post. People now respond to the "thread jacker's" input and the that becomes the focus of the tread.

This post help me a lot looking for suspension. But after reading this one I got all confuse. I bought my car with a 91 civic suspension with ground control (crx) coil overs.

I called the person who I bought the car and told me that the crx suspension will not fit my car something about the control arm that the crx are inside the control arms etc.

Can someone comfirm this to me? I found a suspension for my car which is a 88-91 crx koni reds with apex springs for 2 bills cdn. I really need to change my suspension but not looking to spend a lot. I just want to end my bumpy floaty ride.

    Help me out wagonist :)

    PS: I have a 91 wagon FWD

stay year specific you have a 1991 so civic or crx 1991 stuff will work. actually 89-91.
  • yeah 88 is the odd year for some reason

Thanks guys, so as long as I stay with the year of my car I should be fine. So I guess the suspension that I want is right for me then.

Thank you so much, so now if I can get the person to reply back to me and get this suspension change.
