Blower switch broken and hotfix : )...(answered)
Yep, in a fun moment during my round trip netherland, germany, zwitserland, italy, france, in spain it fell apart.
complaints between about, ooh too hot and brrr too cold, i responded with rocking the handle repeatedly from off to 4
... with mentioned result.
the switch is basically a ground with 5 connections if you count zero too.
the housing is plastic and that coming apart caused a spring within to release and splatter different components to other locations.
So how does it assemble but first of all how to get there to fix it.
i pulled the plug and hotwired it. you need two wires. locate the ground for both(black wire) a thick wire for the blower and
a paperclip orso size for the a/c switch (connection 6) to work.
i know this all because i 1st used the 2 probes from a mulitmeter which caused a burny smell halfway : )
and i saw a high amp # on the housing but neglected it
please pref pictures where screws are and start and finish, while the others had their bum tanned i tried to disassemble
the console(s) - got stuck at the gear(auto) for instance...
and before someone tries to be humorous, i was working in the shade

lolz i love how you describe/explain things
Tonite I can take pics of the Honda tech manual concerning this and post them for your benefit.
It is currently 1:30 pm Winnipeg time (around 7 or 8:30 pm Dutch time) so you won't see anything until tomorrow morning.
On a side note, I remember removing that switch from my parts car so I can also take pictures of the actual switch and post them for you.
Cheers !!
U must be santa/claus or at least a close relative fohshow

How to replace...
Intact blower switch...
I still have to slap slap glove you in the face
: )
There is a spring in the blower switch, it came apart, or is that a spare part your having ?
& a treat to us unlucky USDM wgn...Power Windows,Power Mirror & Front Lower Console.
to get that frigging face panel upper part away to get to that heater panel
fyi
foot, sticky tape, from here a screen latch and wire clip makes it disappear, and yes its the same color
and nooo, im not like that,
all for one one for all, su casa es mi casa, one nation under a ???
: )
its very easy to remove the console.
step one, located the 4 screws or so that hold it in place. remove them. one is covered ba the glove box, so you'll need the glove box open the whole time throughout this.
step two, wiggle the console loose, this can take a little patience.
step three, once you have wiggled it out far enough, unplug the cig. lighter and ashtray light plug (these are together as one)
once thats out, you can remove the rest of the console.
btw, thanks for the love
just afraid i break something that could take ages to find and replace
it feels if it got clips somewhere and just wont give
but to make you all happy i'll give it a yank
and probably break something
: )
and dizzle, i want my love back
I have a similar problem. The 1-2 speeds on my heater/defroster fan quit working, while the higher 3-4 speeds are still working. I heard there is a resistor or some kind of electronic component that needs replacing to restore the lower fan speeds. So, do I need to pull the heater control unit as shown in your photos above. If so, where is this mysterious resistor and where can I get a new one? Any help is appreciated. Winter is almost here and I don't want to drive around with fan blasting on the high speeds constantly. Thanks....
Tom
i was actually busy with the armrest
trying to free the midconsole ... not!
long story short, got the rest
of the switch ...
Finally, one can enjoy airflow adjustability again
together with the ergonomic adjustable height
of that modded strengthened armrest that doesnt
rock/slide in almost every direction and which
can be removed by just lifting it up, thats eeasy
Yeehaw!
