wagon wont start(!help!)

so about a month ago my brother inlaw pulled my battery to use it for a minute (his was dead) so he puts it back in the car but not hooked up. so a week later when i need to move the wagon i hook it up. it sparks a little when i hook it up. so i think ok it still works. so i try to tun the car on and nothing. no power is getting to anything. so o thouhgt it was a dead battery. i charged it and nothing still. any ideas?

second part is about the same thing just not the back story

ok so i thought it was the battery. but i charged it and it still wont turn on. nothing at all happened when i turn the key. the lights wont come on its like its not getting any power off the battery.

it doesnt seem to have any loose wires some were dirty so i cleaned em with a brush. i need to get it running soon. any ideas

    :evil: Your bro may have hooked up the battery backwards.Check the fuses both in the engine compartment & inside.

    he never hooked it back up. there is powere going to the car the emegency lights are able to come on but not blink so its getting power off the battery but nothing will happen when i turn the key.

    check battery. see if there is any power left in it. old batteries dont hold power too well.

    another thing would be to check your fuses under the hood.
    i blew mine when i put it back together. i guess its kinda sensitve.

    siwagon was rite the wires that are in there are misleading the negative is red and the postive is black so i f***ed up and hooked it up backwards and blew the fuse. so i kinda suck right now but it only took me 3 fuses to realize it. now it runs except for the idel problem but i know what that is so thats next on the list then paint.
