Been in the car 4 days. I like it fine, but I'm waiting to see if the knob burns my hand after sitting in the sun all day...
I like the short shifts. I think any generic Ebay short shifter would be the same. They are not wagon specific. I know some folks have broken their cheapie shifters - time will tell.
I also changed to ES poly bushings about a week before changing the shifter. I did not notice much difference vs rubber, but my stock bushings were in surprisingly good shape.
Ditto. If you guys take off the center console and look you will know why no one has made any.
I plan to do that one of these days but the shifting is still pretty good considering the mileage.
Has anyone tried a short shifter adapter from an Accord or Prelude to see if it will fit the 4WD Wagovan? The Prelude and Accord are both cable shifted as well, and there's short shifter adapters made and sold for both of those.
Also, what about using a Prelude 4ws shifter. They supposedly have a short throw. You could replace bushies and such, use the lude shifter, and maybe cut it down and re-tap it.
That's if the Prelude 4ws is the same as the non-4ws.
There's also a cool collection of photos of the modified lude shifter at:

look at the bottom of the products page. If anybody decides to do this, I will buy one.
