The only plugs that i know you don't need to gap are NGK Iridium plugs because the iridium tip becomes tainted when you do it.

An MSD cap will reduce resistance in your ignition system but will not make much of a noticeable difference. However the whole MSD system together (including leads, blaster 2 coil, cap and SCI) will make a small difference and allow you to do a number of things with the ignition system.

    :D

  • will those iridium spark plugs run your engine hot because you can't gap them?

btw, what is an earthing system? is it a waste of time and money?i don't see anyone with it, but i see a few jdm aftermarket companies make them..

Grounding kits provide ground loop isolation, and maybe our resident installer can back me up on this. The thoery is that if your voltages are equal throughout the vehicle-all the components such as the tps, spark plugs, coil ,ecu ect will all receive the optimal voltage therefore making all contributing components run that much more effectively. Supposedly, it has been dyno-proven somewhere. Enthusiasts look for free horsepower & this is one of those tricks

Oh and as far as the spark plug matter goes, almost every spark plug I've bought in the past 4-5 years have all come pre-gapped to my car's specs. The only reason I say that is because the parts counter salesmen have told me they were and I personally have double/triple checked them to those specs. AND I have never bought a set of iridium since I went turbo.

  • i bought those iridium ones..cost me like almost $9 each!
i just don't want my engine running too hot since i'm not gapping them.

If your are purchasing the correct spark plugs for you engine in the iridium range then they should operate at the correct heat... all other spark plugs you should check the gaps just to be sure... :D

  • i thought it was all the same.

do you happen to know which Iridium plugs work with the wagon? I just bought a set off the shelf and put them in.

Nope... you need the plug specific to your motor.. i'll try and find a part number...
