Anything can be done with the right amount of knowledge and cash. I have digital clusters from older Opels sitting in my garage that I was thinking of trying to swap into the wagon. This has been an ongoing debate in my head for sometime now :?

I have all the sensors just looking for the wiring now. I would think it would be easier to take a digital setup from a car from the same years as our cars than one from a fairly new car but then again what do I know

I have one question..........why?? Its cool on some level, but doesn't come off nearly clean enough to look stock and I can't say I'd really see it as being worth all that work. If you want something rare just get the 9000ish rpm and 150ish mph cluster. I believe its european of some sort, but maybe I'm mistaken and somebody pieced two clusters together.

EDIT: Rage's cluster looks more era appropriate and I would actually consider one of them pretty damn sweet if it fits.

EDIT 2: I found some pics of the cluster I was talking about but unfortunately the only thing I could find fast is a craigslist post.

thats 150mph cluster looks cool but im tire of the stock look ... i was thinking probably some one was to do this type. it looks really clean on the picture and completely different, all digital and all that. can regular civic hb si and crx cluster fit on our wagons w/out any mods?

all civic/crx cluster assemblies are the same. the 150 mp/h 9000 rpm cluster came from the UKDM VTi. its got red needles too, HOT 8)

i dont see how you could get tired of the "stock" look, you'll get tired of the aftermarket look a lot faster afterwards.

but anyways, whatever is done to the Rex can be done to the wagon (cluster-wise)

sweet.... it gives a different look. some one will never expect a 90 car w that kind of cluster. i think will look hot. completely different

Yeah, just remember that 88-89 and 90-91 are slightly different as far as wiring goes, so get one that matches your car and it will be easier.

nice find dude... but just in case i would buy another odometer and send that one and when it comes back install that one...
  • Looks nice, hope you get it done...

Has anyone done this yet? I've sent the guy that does the s2k conversions an email but no response :(
  • Forget about Mark Lamond. The guy's not been around on the UK Honda scene like forever. He did a few for the UK guys but it never went far.
Mark is a bit of a perfectionist. He felt it wasn't ready. It was never about the money for him.

There are a few people doing this conversion now with other bits. It's not as good as Mark's but they work and you can actually get them :)

HT will throw up a few links for you.
You'll need to add an electronic VSS to your gearbox.

^ Good to know Dave. What's involved with the electronic vss? Is it a herculean task?

I cheated on my VSS swap and attached the sensor directly to the end of the speedo cable behind the cluster. My wiring is at fault for my speedo in my '00 Prelude cluster not working, but I've been told that there is a VSS with the same pulse-per-revolutions inside the stock cable speedo itself, and you could tap into it and read a proper signal. I'm going to try this sometime soon with my wagon, as I'd like to know how fast I'm going, and the difference in speed between the cable speedo and the Prelude's electric version.

    Not really.
Add it to your tranny then 5v and a GND source, and you get the output which needs to go to the speedo.
I forget but think it's 3 boxes aftermarket for teh S2K cluster via HT links.

The honda city digital would be more old fashioned cool.
