So I hella thinkin on putting a k20 in my wagovan. But the hasport mounts for 88-91 civic/crx mounts won't fit for a civic/crx stock hood. Would this effect an 88 wagovan?
to me, visually, the wagon seems to have more clearance because it slants upwards more than the civic/crx.
i would email hasport and see if they can tell you how far the k20 sticks out of civic/crx hood. then, figure out a way to test the clearance difference between the wagon/other ef's. anyone have any good idea's for measuring the clearances? maybe something like stacking poker chips on the valve cover (say each chip is .5cm). put a dab of something like ketchup on the top one. once the ketchup touches the hood, measure your chips.
i have clearly smoked to much hash if that's the best i can come up with.

hahahahahahaha thats the best advice i've heard in a longgg time!!! lololol
thanks for the advice. I'll give hasport an email. I remember looking at a dude who has a k20 swap into his civic wagon on that civicclub forum, but I can't find it. We'll see what happens. If I can't do the k20 swap, I most likely will go with a d16y8 turbo. ahah
i just remeber there was a guy that did a K24(?) swap into a wagon and it looked like he used the stock hood and everything. Dr.Charles or whatever... lolz.
dude im sure you wouldnt have hood clearance issues at all. i have an LS in mine and it clears the hood big time. and even if it did hit it, you could just put spacers in the hood to prop it up a little in the back.
here is dr. charles' car.....
Is there anymore info on this???? It might be cause im drunk and was talking with some old honda buddies of mine but they said the same thing as adamef. they said just throw some skateboard bearings in there and it should clear. Id much rather have a k20 in there than a b18a turbo.
Edit: One of my Buddies put a k20 in his coupe and said it shouldnt be a problem with me throwing one in my wagon

but seriously, i can't think of a way to measure the clearance, that was the best i could come up with.
How about a big ball of playdoh on the valve cover. Smash it down and then measure the thickness of the playdoh :?
No hash here just extremely boring at work.
