Senior Wagonist
well to start off i have a 1991 civic wagon with the 4wd and 6 speed tranny.
i really enjoy the forum and i wanted to have members see what can be done and have some fun reading what i have done or will be doing. i hope this thread will help others in their mods.
ill try to explain what i did and how i did it but some of the stuff i did in the past, i regret i didnt take pics of.
this is still an on going project so ill leave certain things blank till i get it done or get on the part of the project.
All of these will be updated constantly.
if there are any errors please pm me and ill fix it.
thanks.

I. Throwout bearing / Clutch Release Bearing
I started this with the transmission out of the car already.
thought i would do a quick DIY throwout bearing simple removal/installation.
i got the part from this site.
very good site.
I AM NOT PROMOTING OR AFFILIATED WITH THE HONDA SITE.
BUY ON YOUR ACCORD.
he doesnt stock it but has 4 or 5 warehouses he gets it from. to save us money he has all the items dropshiped to your door.
shipping is free anywhere in the U.S. as long as you spend at least 50.00 usd. per order.

he told me these are oem parts that dealership gets.
thats really up to you guys if he is telling the truth.
mine looks good and is from japan, KOYO.
part $40.12
since i ordered a couple of more items and im in socal.
no tax :P
no shipping cost :P
here is a picture of what it looks like next to the old oem one.
-the right one is the old one, the left one is the new one.
honda part number for 4wd civic wagon manual 6 speed.

they call it a
'Clutch Release Bearing'
remember youll need to regrease everything once you reinstall it.
i have my tranny out so you can see it much easier.
to take out the tranny is another DIY.
8)
here is what all the whole thing looks like out of the tranny.
there isnt too much too it.
old original t.o. bearing.
this is where it is located on the tranny.
this is with me moving the clutch arm.
now remove the single small bolt. use a 12mm socket.
removed.
once removed then you can take out the clutch arm on the side.
the arm will just slide out.
becarefull as the spring will pop out.
just get a hold of it with your free hand.
also the center metal fork will also need to be held secure while removing the arm.
clutch arm removal.
at this point just replace it and reinstall it back on.
this is what the orientation looks like.
I. Injectors.
I wasnt sure which route to go with for the injectors.
these are the options i had
-clean the stock ones by myself and just go with that.
-get them clean professionally.
-get DSM injectors. they are commonly found in oem Mitsubishi engines.
-buy RC injectors.
-buy another brand.
things to think about when making this decision.
-fitment.
-reliability.
-performance.
-any other parts does it require to get this to work.
well..
-stock.
pros-reliable, fitment is perfect, no need to get anything to fit or make work.
cons- not enough flow (performance issue), getting old, very dirty, costly to get professionally cleaned
-RC injectors.
pros- they have many sizes good selection, they have been around for a while.
cons- i have read that some have fitment issue, they have had some flow issues even on brand new ones ( i dont have the time for that issue to come up  ), very expensive, i called the company (RC) for fitment info and everytime different employees give me different models for the same request. they still can't tell me if the car is saturated or peak and hold!
-DSM injectors.
pros- oem parts, reliable, cheap
cons- used, very limited on size cc., might need a resistor box, will still need to be professionaly cleaned.
- Deatchworks injectors
http://www.deatschwerks.com
all 4 injectors = 250.00
This is the winner of my choice. why?? well...
pros- oem parts, brand new, inner core is what is different but they still use oem cores from larger setups and outer cores are oem honda civic, have custom made cc sizes, no extra charge for specific size upgrades, no need for relsistor boxes, direct pnp, fast shipment got them in 2 days, price/they are cheaper then RC injectors.
cons- still cost money
all of their injectors are tested and a sheet is given to the customer for inspection.
the two similiar are the new injectors. the single is the old oem one.

II. Cam shaft / regrind
I just got it back today.
since i am keeping the stock D16A6 there are no aftermarket camshafts.
so i was introduced to a regrind process.
the process is basically to grind down your stock camshaft in specific areas that will allow exact lift and duration of the valves. (hence performance gain).
so i needed to find a shop who can do this very well and will be affordable, so i turn to the experts at 'Delta Camshafts'.
how does this work you ask?
-you send them your stock camshaft.
-once they get it, it only takes 1 day for them to measure and setup the computerized grinder to work.
-then they send it back the next day.
*having ups send it back to me was the longest part of it. i sent it to them with usps and that only took 2 day. having them send it back by ups took about 1 week.
they can make any custom setup you may ever want. so dont worry if your turbo'd or not, if you want a high reving setup, or just low rpm power to redline.

you can ask for Jon or his partner, Scott. either one can help you.

that includs shipping.

at first i thought this was a forgotten diaper....
but its a free T shirt.

I. Valve cover
Since the engine is out i have a choice on weather to repain the vavle cover or not.
if do paint it, which color and what process.
after doing alot of research and looking around to see what looks good to me, i decided to to get the wrinkle red.
now i have to see who can do it and whats more economical for me to get this done.
i found a couple of local places that can do this and i decided on one vs. the other.
-specialized coating
http://www.specializedcoating.com
pros- great work, lots of customer service, local, price is good $75.00, they specialize in this kind of work, can do anything extra if i needed such as polishing or sanding certain sections of the items.
cons- since my request is small they told me i would have to wait about 2-3 weeks to have enough people to do the same color for a batch to be started
-Ikon powercoating inc.
http://www.ikonpowdercoating.com
pros- price, local, fast to start and complete my job.
cons- they just paint and coat no extra special services. limited in colors for wrinkle process red and black colors available, need to do any sanding or polishing myself.
i went with Ikon for my valve cover.
$50.00 no tax
cash
dropped it off 3 days later picked it up.
i have to sand anything i wanted to show the aluminum.
