I have a CRX with a black interior and it was basically gray from all the sun damage. I use this stuff called Forever Black that comes in a shoe polish type applicator and redid the entire interior making it look new. If you wanted to go black you could always try something like that.
thanks man, and yeah my local auto store has that duplicolor interior paint vinyl and fabric paint, i'm sure walmart would have it as well.
how well did that "foreverblack" stay in? has it faded yet? an how long have you had it? does it get stickey when it gets hot?
how does it clean? that was my biggest problem, the kryllion was sticky so paper towels would basically tear apart on it leaving fuzzy like shit everywhere.
thats when i finally got mad at the driver door panel and kind of "beasted" it ripping it off and slamming it on the ground a few times. it got me pretty good too tho, took a HUGE chunk of meat off my index finger.
there is a reason car manufactures don't color their interiors with blue,RED, yellow, green... it's because it may seem 'cool' for about 5 minutes, and after that you are so annoyed you feel like driving off a cliff.
and yes ^^ looks good.
i'm done being polite, your car is like ghetto rice. get a vanity plate that says 'UNKLBEN'.
i know everyone else is thinking the same thing, i just know it.

I don't think he ever said what color he was looking for so I think your statement was a little uncalled for. He simply asked a valid question and was given some options by another member why add your useless comments? 90% of us have gone thru the rice phase and moved on and if this is the phase that he is in maybe we should help him past it. I am sorry I am sure your statement had some merit I just think it could have been done better.
to each his own, but i dont see how the interior is all that dull. simple, but not dull. its like that for a reason, like quarters said, how many people would by a car with red plastic? haha...
anyways man, do what you want. but if its red then the same way that will get dull.... then blue, etc... just saying. there is a CRX in my town, a black one with red painted interior and im not gonna lie, it looks really like crap, like, really really cheap .. but um.. anywho.
i went through a "rice phase" when i was 15, 2 years before i had a car. by the time i got a car it was gone, so i never get to sickness lolz.
I painted an interior once and will never do it again. The bright colors will reflect off the inside of the glass and I hated it. I would rather have the durability of the stock plastic also and not have to worry about scratching the paint off.
I can't see pics at the moment so my comment is not a shot at you just personal experience.
^^ or the fords in Europe. they actually have me saying "wow, thats pretty nice" then you walk up to it and the interior feels like a new VW's in terms of quality. *sigh* once again, the USA gets the low end stuff :x

You could also try going to your local auto parts store and see if they have any Duplicolor vinyl and fabric coatings paint.

I think someone on www.honda-tech.com tried it and it worked pretty well.

there is no rice phase, i'd just much rather look at a colored interior then a dull one. jeeezz, you guys are hostil.

i'm thinking of where the red is now, a silver color and the rest black.
all the "tan" color silver and all the "grey" color, satin black.
good, bad? i'm sure you guys would like it better then the current work.
either the "beagle" style look with silver top, and black along the bottom. with black painted bumpers and a black hood.
or red body with black trim, red painted bumpers and a black hood.
i'm stuck with one of those.
but you did a good job.
Don't take it to heart.
Some of us are just a little more sedate than you youngins'!
that's why we were labeled Old School by a Moderator here;)
I think your work looks pretty sharp.
Would i choose to color my own interior in anything other than Grey,Black or Blue? No
I posted a long rant on this subject awhile back. as you say to each their own. At least you're keeping that wagon on the road and in working order
I can't see pics at the moment so my comment is not a shot at you just personal experience.
but for the record, all the red is going to be painted a "silver" like color.
and all the blue trim will be black.
the "roof" will be black as well, the trim along the doors (light colored trim), will all be painted the "silver" color to match parts of the dash.
everything you can see that isn't red, will be black and everything you can see that is red will be silver. comprendo?
this isn't my stuff, but it's the color it'll be.
