i have an EG 4D too, which is my DD right now. which is also where i am sourcing most of the z6 swap from but its only a Mini-me right now.

the EG has a shopping list of mods but i want to completely convert to an EE enthusiast.

looks like you already tested out the 4WD
  • defiantly did, in 6" of snow! didn't get stuck once, except for when i found an ice shelf 5" high in a snow bank and fell through. the snow bank was about 8"+ high. only reason i got stuck was cause of the ice shelf from previously melted snow freezing over and then it snowed some more covering the shelf. took me 2 hrs to dig it out.

Neither one of my RT's came with a passenger mirror either.

Nice little wagon man! Welcome to the board!
  • well i sold the EG to my house mate and now am driving the wagon. i go the subframe from a nearby junkyard, its in better shap than my current one but im gonna try and sandblast it so i can have my friend weld some of it. just to build more structure and strength. i have all of the parts except the conversion ecu harness to to the obd-1 vtec conversion. ARP headstuds, GE BlockGuard, MLS headgasket, adn i want to get some ARP con rod bolts.
  • pic update!

this is the new rear cross member i got, before sandblasting and after.

now i have to add material to the cross member to make it stronger so i can rally in the SCCA next year i hope. when i get the old xmember out ill post pics of how bad it is.

    ^ looks better.
    i like those wheels too.
(it just needs to be dropped!)
  • im not lowering it yet cause i want to do some scca rally cross. after that im gonna go for autocross
  • the best mini swap ive done to date is a6 block z6 head stock everything was beating b16 swaps
  • i got the used cross member welded. its not gonna break anytime soon unless i drive over something i shouldn't. ill get pics in the next few days of the welds my friend did for way cheap. ( hes a very talented welder, he made a Chevy s-10 monster truck with custom Chevy 6.0L V8 turbo diesel and 80's jeep grand wagoneer front and rear solid axles riding on airbag suspension. (i can get pics)) i now need to have my buddy at the body shop paint the cross member and undercoat it.

i wouldnt lower it. i like your ride height the way it is... not every wagon needs to be slammed

its pretty bad, tis is my new and old next to each other
    DSCF1063.jpg
the new one looks like it came from the factory! i got the seams on the LCA mounts welded by a friend of mine, you can see the welds in this pic.
    DSCF1056.jpg
this next pic just makes the cross member look way out of place.
    DSCF1065.jpg
and after i replaces the cross member i did my exhaust, i used a flex pipe and a 2" inlet cherry bomb turbo muffler, it sounds almost stock, my roommate has one too but with 2.5" catback it sounds way different. well this is how it came out.

  • nice find!! nice fix on rsf, now for motor stuff, yes you can smoke alot of b series motors with sohc, if done right, if you have low mile a6 then i would do z6,zc,y8 head y8 will give nice compression but must use high oc, gas all the time, as for my experiance many of my sohc builds with the right parts all have dyno' in the 162-170 range, to the wheels and i never used obd1 convertion just b16 ecu obd0, you build it right and the ecu thinks its a b16. these motor trans combos are almost 100 pounds lighter also so auto x you want this setup plus there is so much more oem parts to choose from!!! any info you need i will give! been building hondas since 94' btw the only eg in the us is the del sol, chassies code on civics are diffrent in usdm

  • thats a very nice write up you have there. i hope to have more stuf done on my wagon soon but its winter, so i am gonna play in the snow when there is more than just a dusting. i put a sound system in it for now cause i figure if i cant go fast i might as well make some noise.

  • Wow man looks great...especially for what you paid for it! If you come across another deal, hook a brotha up!

Have fun in the snow...we're going to be getting a bunch more.
