JDM EF5 Shuttle/Beagle Questions??

Its been a long time since I have been on here. I have done a lot of changes to my wagon. I really need to update my build thread.

Anyway on Sunday I'm going to add a second wagon to my family.

I'm going to fly 1000 miles to buy a 95 JDM RHD Honda civic Shuttle/Beagle EF5. I have a few questions for my fellow wagon family.

The guy I'm buying it from works for or owns a company that imports cars.
He is advertising it as a 95 JDM RHD Honda civic Shuttle/Beagle EF5.
I'm sure everyone has seen it on face book.

It will need some body work, but come on I have spent thousands on my USDM 91 RT wagon.
Whats 3k on body and paint on a RHD JDM shuttle, Am I right!!!

The wagon is a 95, but I thought any car that gets imported has to be at-least 25 years old?
So there is my first question, how is this possible, is the car illegal to own?
The owner has shown me the title and sure enough is says 95, the chassis code EF5-3510770.
I looked it up here http://www.autotraderjapan.com/index.php/auction-access/vin-decoder.html and yes it said it the production month was 1995-08-01
The owner said because its an EF there is some kinda of loophole?? Is this correct?
I don't want LOL customs to show up one day and take my baby away.

The Shuttle/Beagle is two tone Black and the silver/gray.
I read somewhere that only "beagles" are blue or red with the silver/gray two tone.
Is this correct, if so is this just a shuttle and maybe the previous owner (In Japan) put beagle decals on it?

I have tried to do a more detailed chassis code search but not much luck with a JDM chassis code.

Other questions I have are about maintenance.
Are the tie rods the same, being its RHD maybe a little different?
Will I be able to get regular parts for regular maintenance?
I know all motor parts will be available here in the US, but what about the stuff I'm not thinking about?

I'm going to paint her the JDM Blue beagle color, what is the paint code and is there a USDM color code that is very similar?

On a side note BAM I will be traveling through Atlanta/Marietta Sunday maybe we could meet up?
I would love to see your wagon camper and bigfoot wagon!!

Thanks for reading my long and boring post!!

Hiya, I've got a JDM blue beagle downstairs, Color code on the door says B-63P,
They came out Blue, Green, Black & Red each with two tone-grey bottom half.
They were built till 1996 so it's totally genuine build year.
Hope someone can answer more, Cheers.

The Beagle is different only in cosmetics.

They are effectively a face lifted Shuttle with an extended manufacturing period. So yes, it is likely a legit car. I can't see the post you linked as it is a closed group so I cannot confirm by looking at it, but can confirm that yes they did come with the black/grey paint job and yes they were manufactured as late as 1996.

    Mechanically they are the same.

As for your import/customs related queries, no idea.

I have received Copies of the release letters from the EPA and the DOT.
A letter from U.S. Customs signifying release of the Customs Entry Bond.
A copy of the Florida registration and title.
I also called the Florida DMV to verify that the title is legit.
Everything checks out so Sunday is a go.
As of Sunday I will be an owner of a JDM RHD 1995 Honda Shuttle/Beagle.
    I'm so very excited!!

Clear coat fade is the only thing i can think of that happens to the Beagles but I guess that happens to all mid 90's Hondas.

    It looks great man, grats!

Yes, it will need some body work and there is a small patch of rust, but I don't mind. I will have the bodywork done and repainted before the end of the year.
    I am super excited thanks!!
