Stock/OEM exhaust replacement options?

So my current exhaust is on the verge of complete failure due to rust. I'm trying to figure out what the best replacement option is.
My mechanic is telling me that due to the age of vehicle, sourcing an exhaust system is becoming tough/pricey.

What do you guys suggest as far a stock replacement exhaust set up for a 1990 wagon? Links would be very helpful too.

Thank you in advance.

  • It should be hard to just replace the bits that are rusting out. Any decent exhaust shop can make some new pipe for you, that is usually where most of the rust is. Most any generic muffler can be made to work as well if you needed one. You can even do that whole thing, a cat should be too hard to source, could go with some high flow ebay cat even, have a shop do up the rest with a generic resonator and muffler. I've done this on my 91 Sedan and my 83 Accord.
