Power window / doors of a 4 door?

My wagon is a base model and came with no options. Now nothing is crappier then manual locks on the 4 door.

My brother scrapped his 4 door last summer and kept all the power windows and power locks for his 4 door. Does anyone know if all that stuff with simply bolt into a wagon (would require wiring) or do I need to modify mounting holes and things of that nature?

I really want just the locks, but I won't turn down power windows too if I can install them. It's not a must, but would help. Would his door panel fit aswell?

the door panels will NOT FIT. panels are wago specific

BUT... you can in fact transfer power windows and door locks over from the sedan. if you are pretty handy with your tools you can mount it prolly fairly easy. there is obviously a difference in sedan windows, not sure how that effects the install but its worth trying. also, as far as locks go, im pretty sure its all a bolt on

 if and when you do this, DO A WRITE UP!!! good luck :D

    What???

I love the fact that my base model wagon does not have any powered gizmos that will only break after time. I have manual windows, locks and steering. Less things that will go wrong.

Oh well, to each his own.

i might add, ALL USDM/CDM wagons were "base" models with power nothing, only the RT4WD and A/T models had the wow-so-awesome power steering.

i agree with lanette though, its nice to not worry about electrical crap :D (though im prolly going to become a hypocrit one day and install PW and PL on the wago)

My '90 Ford Aerostar had tons of electrical problems. PW stopped working, PDL stopped working, etc... Power steering froze up 2 winters in a row, one time destroying the rack completely, because of water from the windshield dripping onto the power steering pressure valve and sucking in when the pressure dropped, all because of a 2 penny gutter under the base of the windshield fell off.

One of the deciding factors for getting the wagon was that it did NOT have PDL, PW or power steering.

If you want the PW PL you can take everything from the 4 door including wiring. The wagons have a spot on the fuse box for the option so all you have to do is plug in the harness. Only problem is that its a big pain in the butt to remove the wiring from the 4 door. you have to follow the wiring from the switches all the way back to the fuse box. I dont think the door panels would fit. What you can do is mount everything on the wagon doors and then just install tweeters in the manual window levers. thats what i was thinking of doing.

I've got the window system froma rHD. It'd fit but you'd be bodging.
From what I understand, the inner door skins on the elec window Shuttles are different to accomodae the control box which is situated on the passenger inner door skin.

i have a wagon that i installed my self power windows and door locks. the wires that you need are yellow and white from the four fuses. the wires i got are from an 91 civic ex. the window regulaters are all the same bolt pattern. the only thing that might give everyone trouble is the rear wires. you will have to cut out a hole in the apiler for the wires to go throw. i used a hole saw and a dremal to do my cuting. the plactic that covers on the pilers has to come off anyway. you will see a factory hole were honda was going to use. thats your guide. the controls just cut out the door panels thats what i did and it fit like a glove. dont forget to take all the other door handles you will need them to work all the windows. i will post a pic of my baby when i get done with the new body.
