I have been wondering if it is possible to add a vtec 'computer' to my 1.5L? What would need to be done to have this done.
is it even possible?

What he said. It requires the right head, which is most important, the wiring for the ECU, the ECU itself as well as oil passages and lines.

I have a a6 with a P28 running.. Runs just fine..
I got all my parts from a 92-95 Civic ex with z6
1) OBD0 to OBD1 ECU Conversion Jumper Harness
http://www.ebay.com/itm/OBD0-to-OBD1-ECU-Conversion-Jumper-Harness-For-Honda-Civic-Acure-Integra-CRX-/391173712840
2) OBD1 ECU I would suggest a P28
3) OBD1 Distributor
4) 4 wire O2 sensor
NOW if you actually want vtec!!
You need a Vtec head
z6 or y8, I would suggest z6 head.
You will have to run the vtec wires from the Jumper Harness
There are a lot of other things you need to know when swapping a z6 head on a 1.5 non-vtec block..
This is called a mini-me build!!

You are better off just dropping a full z6 swap in.. mini-me's are sometimes (a lot of the time) a bitch!!
