Transmission question

What is the difference between a hydraulic transmission and non hydraulic transmission??

main reason..I'm trying to figure out if a d16 hydraulic transmission will work in a 1990 civic(hatch)...that right now is a 4spd cable tranny.

    it can be made to work, but the conversion kit is about $400-500, used GOOD 88-91 = $150, not worth the headaches.

    Did you try car-parts.com. That would be where I would start and watching for a local one one online classifieds such as forums and craigslist.com.

    I can make a EX tranny, 4.058 FD small bearing case, got a DX 3.89 FD to go through one day, not hard to swap the ring and shaft.
