    installed

After some of the ones i've seen here, I was almost afraid to look here...no worries :)

changed this too, the one on the parts car was much straighter. then it took me an hour to get the hood to latch again!

also changed bumper and bumper lights,Right headlight, dash AC vent, some other odd and ends

    Now the questions:

What kind of filler can I use on the bumper cover? Will regular bondo stick or do I need something more flexible? It has some gouges and scrapes, but I'm having no luck locating a better example. Plan is to paint it black along with all the other trim.

I've been running an EF sedan bumper and cover since I put the car together, but this one looks so much more...wagony.

next question. Think I should weld these holes up, then grind, fill, etc., or just ding 'em down a little and bondo? This is where the nice aftermarket mirror was

  • if you weld the holes, there is still a good chance you will need to use bondo by the time you are done griding the bead down. but thats what i would do. make sure to disconnect your negetive battery cable.

Yeah, there will be some filler anyway, just wasn't sure whether it's worth the PITA to weld first.

Jealousy doesn't even begin to describe what I feel seeing that
  • the only thing that comes to mind for the bumper is either fiberglass or check out this product called fuzor. the have an extensive line of things that should do the job

don't use fiberglass on plastic, it will always come loose and crack after a while.

you got to use special plasic filler for it.

or get a complete fiberglass bumper. then it's always easy to repair with fiberglass.

but are there aftermarket bumpers- wagon bumpers- available? Or even NOS ones?

not to my knowledge, but I'm going to build my own.
you can always modify a fiberglass one for a crx to fit your wagon.

Getting ready for paint... looks pitiful, don't it?

    83.jpg

Those moldings are a PAIN to remove...better than masking twice, tho

    84.jpg

does anybody know how to get these off without destroying them?

    85.jpg

Think I've decided to use this rack (Kia Sportage) sturdier and longer than the OE

early 90's? not too hard, just put 8 1/4-20 nutserts in the roof skin, then cut 5 1/4" off the crossbars.
