Electrical Glitch...Fixed...No fuse.

I'm having weirdness, all the the left side of the car.
1. Left headlight quit working
2. Left turn signal blinking at double the normal rate
3. Windshield washer pump quit working
4. Occasional on/off operation of wipers
5. Left rear taillight not working

All bulbs and fuses are OK. I'm guessing there is broken wire or short someplace on the left side. Has this kind of thing happened to anyone else? Any suggestions?

  • Checked the relays?
  • No, not yet. I don't know anything about relays. How do you check them?

    #2 & #5 are related.When #2 happens it means #5 (bulb(s) are burnt).Since u say bulbs are OK,then there's a break in the wire to #5.

Do u hear the wiper pump priming? Is it the frt.or rear?Check squiters for clogs or kinks in the hoses.
  • It's the front pump, and I don't hear it working at all.

my friend had the exact same issue!!! this was his problem, the GROUNDS were not grounded, he had undone the screw and forgot to rebolt it, so it was just sitting there.. under the hood near the headlights you'll see this small yellowish box thing with several black wires going into it, check if its on correct, or that all the ground wires are alright... hope this helps
  • The first garage I took the car to said all the bulbs and fuses were fine and that I had a broken wire or something that would have to be traced down, and it could involve hours of labor. I took it to another place and they replaced 1 fuse which they said was missing, although I have no idea how, and put in 4 new bulbs, and now everything is working OK. I'm not going to try to figure this one out. I'll quit while I'm behind.

BTW a quick test on relays is to smack them gently with something like a screw driver handle, ratchet, ect ect sometimes they arent totally dead and will click on and off but they still need to be replaced if acting up.
