91 Real Time 4wd Wago

Its funny how things work. I recently bought this very well cared for 91 R/T 4wd wagovan. However days before I had also bought another 89 R/T model wagovan. I've been a long time fan of Honda Wagovans but everytime I was ready to buy one it got snatched up under me.

Well the first R/T model was bought a week ago sight unseen and to this day I haven't seen it in person. The day I sent the owner a deposit to hold the car. This 91 model was posted for sale. Few days later I saw it & sent the local owner an email hoping he still had it. Day after day I emailed him with no reply until yesterday. I told him I would buy it and after a short test drive I own another car that I had such a hard time finding.

Well now what to do with the other wagon?? I guess I'll keep the 91 and sell the 89. I'll be pickin up the 89 this weekend. I will post pics later as I will prob be posted for sale.

What would be the difference in the 89 & 91 models? How do I post pics?

  • you need a photo hosting site like www.photobucket.com to post pics. There are tutorials there on how to post pics on forums.

The biggest difference I can think of is the seat belts. 90-91 have automatic ones. Other than that, there isn't much difference.
  • Wish I had such luck. I see more Ferrari's and Aston's than I see Wagon's over here
  • So should I keep the 89 R/T or the 91 R/T? The 91 model is immaculate condition. The 89 is not bad but not as good condition. The 89 has A/c and that a must for me.

I just don't know which one to keep?

    Suggestions?

keep the 91. and then just add AC later on, its like $600 brand new from Honda.
  • Right on thanks for the suggestions
  • I personally don't like the auto belts on my '91.......that would be enough for me to keep the '89...just my two cents....

    Cheers
  • Corner lights are different and the rear shock mounts are different as well.. (On 2wd atleast)

I don't think I know of anything else..

i'll add that the gauge cluster, fuse box area, glove box, front bumper lights are also different.

as far as the auto seat belts go, im prolly the only guy on here that likes them  they are pretty dope to show off the my friends

um, i just personally like the newer models because they are, well, newer i mean not by much, but if these things hadany bugs in like earlier models i think Honda would have prolly fixed it by the 91 models...

maybe im just ranting now, but im just talking out of experience with the 1999 Odyssey.. anywho..
  • Pic of my wagon R/T4wd. I have to upload the rest on the computer.

I know 88 had the bench-style single fold down rear seats, and 90-91 had the 60/40 split. I don't know which the 89 has.

I prefer the 60/40 split rear seats, and the lower seat cushion is nicer on the 60/40 split too.

Anybody know which year the 60/40 split started?

perhaps 90 because my 89 has the bench.

I think the back seat style has more to do with the model. DX and RT4WD get cloth seats and 60/40 rear. Wagovan gets vinyl and bench rear.

    correct ^^

i might add that DX and RT-4WD also got rear headrests
  • that's one clean wagon
  • So my worst nightmare has come true. Before I continue Ill post pics my wagon. When I first bought the car I was surprised how complete & well cared for this car was. Ive owned many cars & this is one of my favorite cars Ive ever owned.

Thats the wagon your parting out ? It was wrecked right?
  • A week today I got into a wreck with my car. Luckily I own a body shop but have yet to analyze if its repairable. I love this car & will do everything possible to salvage the car. I ended up getting hurt & Im still revcoering but today got the currage to see the extent of the damage.

It seems that it was high enough to where I can just replace the front apron & rad support, fener, hood & bumper but I havent opened the hood to be certain.

    Here are some pics.

That was the end of my DOHC ZC RT4wd. It was repairable but I just had enough with the car so I parted it out (regretfully)
